Amanda[edit]
Finish the time trial in West Africa.
Amanda, Winter[edit]
You must complete the game getting all secrets and defeat all time trials.
Hint - Time Trial Shortcut[edit]
Having trouble with time trials? Try completing the final time trial in Bolivia against the final boss first (it's a boss fight, and it's easy). This unlocks the one-hit death cheat. You can input the cheat when the cinematics are playing at the beginning of a stage and make enemies and certain bosses die quickly, saving you some much needed time. It also makes the motorbike races faster to finish. Note that only one cheat may be turned on at a time.
Unlockable Cheats[edit]

However there may be some minor revisions in the future - even carefully written walkthroughs can be considered a work-in-progress for a considerable time.. As yet there's no news on when, or if, Legend will be ported to Mac but I'm keeping my eye out for announcements. Note that these walkthroughs were written from playing the game at the default medium difficulty, 'Adventurer'. If you play on the high or low difficulty some aspects will be different, such as the accuracy of the bad guy's shooting, and the number of medipacks they drop, however the general gameplay remains the same on any difficulty level. Playing on the highest difficulty level - 'Tomb Raider' - can make some of the Boss battles quite tricky if you're down on medipacks, so you need to be more careful about Lara's health as at that difficulty level there are fewer medipacks dropped by the bad guys! I've now completed the full game for the third time - this time at maximum difficulty - and I've added some comments on this to the start of each level walkthrough, so look for these extra tips (which will also come in handy in many cases at lower difficulty if you're having problems). The PlayStation 2 game was released in Australia 13 April 2006, a short time after the European and US releases. As there was no news on a Mac version I decided to write these walkthroughs initially from the PS2 game - if/when a Mac version is released, and if it will run on my Mac, I'll thoroughly check these walks against the Mac game. The gameplay for the various console or computer versions is the same, so these walks should be compatible with the PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PC games, and any of the other versions with the same gameplay. The Tiwanaku PS2 Demo was released at the end of March 2006, and my Demo walkthrough was posted on 2 April 2006. The PS2 demo is most of the first level of the main game, but is missing many of the extras that are in the full game so the walk varies in a lot of the smaller detail. Please use the correct walkthrough for either the Demo or the full first level! In the early stages of the game I've given extra detail to explain what's going on, but as the game progresses I've dwelt less on the fine detail and concentrated on the more important things that happen. I've explained the technique I used to beat each Boss, but although these worked for me they may not be the only way to do it so feel free to experiment! These walkthroughs were written for the most part from my own experiences while playing the game, but I used Piggyback Interactive's 'The Complete Guide' as a general reference, and to verify my own walkthroughs where necessary or solve any particularly stubborn puzzles. This was primarily to save time as I didn't want to still be writing these at Christmas - this is probably the most complicated TR yet, with many unlockable extras.. The first thing you should do before playing is to sit down and read the manual, so you can become familiar with what the game has to offer. Note that I won't be giving support for information that is readily available in the manual, so please read it before emailing! The reason for this is that I don't have enough time to answer questions that have already been covered in the manual, and if you've bought the game then you should have the manual already. If you buy it second hand, be sure you get the manual with it! |
TR Legend is different in many ways to any previous TR, even AoD, and a systematic approach to the game will give you the best gameplay experience! I won't be listing absolutely everything here, so the manual is your first port of call. If you'd like an insane amount of detail, I can recommend The Complete Guide from Piggyback Interactive, which has an enormous amount of information about every aspect of the game. If you can't afford it I'll be covering everything that's necessary to complete the game and find all the Rewards, but I won't be going into an enormous amount of detail due to the limitations of running my site single-handed, and with limited bandwidth on the server..
The full Legend game starts with a movie style cinematic Title, then you find yourself at the main menu. It's a good idea to let the game sit here for a while as there are a series of 'replay' movies from the different areas which illustrate the locations, some of Lara's new moves, and some of the alternative combat moves - these little demos only cut in when the game is idle and are well worth watching.
Starting a new game shows you another cinematic, this time a flashback to Lara when she was young, accompanying her mother on a flight in the Himalayas where the aircraft is forced down by mechanical failure. Following this is a current day cinematic showing Lara free climbing in Bolivia, after which the game proper starts. It's good to pay attention through all the cinematics, voiceovers etc. as Legend does have a strong storyline, an understanding of which will enhance your gameplay experience!
To begin with, take your time and don't rush things. At the start there will be on-screen instructions to guide you - I won't be giving full details here so you need to pay attention to the onscreen instructions to learn how to do the new moves! Also listen to the conversations as I won't be detailing them here, and often I won't even mention them at all unless there is something of specific interest.
Legend reintroduces us to one of our favourite gameplay elements - secrets, or Rewards as they are now known. The Rewards are quite conspicious, even in pitch dark caves, so as long as you go close enough to them you can't miss them - you only need to be sure you explore every nook and cranny as you progress, although that's not always so easy! Every level has a large number of these Rewards, which come in Bronze, Silver, and Gold, roughly corresponding to the difficulty in finding them. Check your PDA during a level to see how many Rewards you need to look for, and how many you've found so far, and be sure to search each area thoroughly before you move on as you may not be able to come back, at least for a while (once you finish a level you can come back and replay it anytime to find the extra Rewards). In the old games the secrets may have given you extra ammo or goodies, or maybe nothing at all, but they are one of the keys in Legend to unlocking a large amount of extra goodies, so now they are well worth chasing down - without them all you're only seeing part of the full game experience!
To complete the game to 100% requires completing the main game, and gathering every Reward in the main game and Croft Manor. During the game various extras will be unlocked as you go, which includes a wide variety of different costumes for Lara to wear when you replay levels! Some of these are unlocked simply by finishing a level, others by finding all the Rewards in a level, and the last few by winning the Time Trials (the Time Trials are extra and don't figure in the game completion % shown in the stats). The ultimate, at least for most guys, would be completing the game and winning every Time Trial as this unlocks the final items, including two different colour bikini swimsuits for Lara to use in the Manor. Legend doesn't have a lot of levels although some are quite long, but there are now big incentives to replay them, and on the way increase the bonuses the game has to offer, by the introduction of Time Trial Mode. If these are beaten more extras are unlocked, so these are also well worth the trouble! The Time Trials can be tackled after each level is completed - see the manual for more details.
At the end of each level you'll be told what Extras have been unlocked and how to view them from the main menu, so be sure to check them out. Once won they're available for ever after, so there's no rush.. Also, finishing each level allows you to go back at any time and replay it to find Rewards you may have missed before, and also unlocks all the cinematics you saw during the level. Once you complete the main game you also gain access to the Special menu, which contains a cinematic showing the many ways for Lara to die (a sort of bloopers reel ;-) and also the Cheats menu. The Cheats are unlocked one at a time by completing the game and beating the Time Trials, so you won't be seeing them all in a hurry..
The game can be Saved at any time, but doing so saves the game to the last Checkpoint Lara crossed so there's no point in saving between checkpoints. There are plenty of Checkpoints so this isn't a problem most of the time, but the action can be quite intense between them. If you do get kicked back to a Checkpoint, remember that any Rewards you found after that will have to be grabbed again - this may include any you found in the vicinity of the Checkpoint!
A word on the Save/Load functions (for more on this read the manual!) As you go through the game you can save as usual, but if you want to go to Croft Manor, or replay a level, you need to load the latest in-game save and work from that. Reason is that the savegame not only saves Lara's progress through the normal levels, but it also saves the extra Rewards from the Manor, as well as any extra Rewards or Time Trial data from replaying a level. To play in the Manor select Croft Manor from the main menu; to play a previous level again choose Load Level from the Load menu. If you finish a level and miss some Rewards you can go back there at any time to find the rest of them, by using Load Level and choosing the latest save from the menu, which then gives you a list of available levels to play. This means playing the level as usual until you find the Rewards you're missing, and it plays just as it did when you were first there! (I forgot to go back for a Reward in Peru because Lara died and I was sent back to the checkpoint - I had to replay more than half the level to get it ;) Once you find the missing Rewards you can save the game in the latest slot, even though it saves as a different level to the one you're replaying - it's just the Reward data you're changing in it!
The PDA, or Personal Digital Assistant, contains information and objectives, details of Rewards gained and game progress, as well as items Lara is carrying.
The PLS is Lara's Personal Light Source, which is an ultra bright, self charging light. It slowly discharges, but recharging is a lot faster. Use it freely, but before attempting any tricky manoeuvres in dark areas recharge it so it doesn't turn off just when you need it!
The Binoculars now have RAD mode which can be used to assess the environment for things such as dangerous features, fragile objects, puzzle components etc. The Binoculars are now far more useful and fulfil a variety of gameplay functions, so use them whenever you want to find out more about the environment around you!
The Grapple can be used to pull items from a distance, swing across gaps, pull Rewards down from inaccessible ledges, even pull enemies down from ledges or closer to Lara! Experiment as you go to see what uses you can put it to.
Lara has a variety of new combat moves. Combining the weapons with Jump, or Roll, now gives Lara some cool moves, such as sliding into an opponent to knock him off his feet, Lara doing a slow motion jump over her opponent while merrily blasting away, flips and rolls while shooting etc. Lara can also kick enemies when up close but this is the only non-weapons attack. Try out various control combinations, and practice these on the easier opponents early on so you're familiar with them when they're needed for the big battles later in the game. A good place to practice is the start of the second level, Peru, as there is a targetable dummy in the street and you won't be pestered.
One move that has become something of a trademark in TR is the Handstand when Lara pulls up onto a ledge, and it is back with us in Legend! There is only a small difference between the ordinary pull-up and the handstand - both are done with the Jump button, but for an ordinary pull-up the button is tapped momentarily, and for the handstand it is held down. This obviously introduces a slight lag in the handstand, but then you won't be doing it when time is short, will you! (The Jump button is also used for vaulting between ledges to climb up a wall, as well as for jumping.)
The other classic move from every TR, the Swan Dive, is also included in Legend. However it is a little tricky to pull off - it requires hitting the Roll button at the correct moment when doing a forward jump. This should be done with Lara running, then hit the Jump, followed immediately by the Roll - the gap between hitting these is very tight, a fraction of a second, so requires some practice! This dive also works on dry land, when Lara swan dives and ends with a roll to continue forward. When you get better with the swan dive it is possible to perform it from a standing start by tapping Forward, Jump, and Roll, in very quick succession, but it's not easy.
There are some special undocumented moves to experiment with as well - these are gymnastic exercises, and if you string enough of them together Zip and Alister will come in with some comments. These aren't necessary for normal gameplay, but are a lot of fun in the quiet moments! Find an unobstructed open area (Lara's gymnasium is useful for this), start running, and tap the Roll button for Lara to do a forward roll. In the middle of the roll, start tapping Roll repeatedly and Lara will do a series of forward handstand flips, ending with a double somersault! Experiment with the Jump button as well, which results in the same series of forward flips, but without the handstands - Lara tucks in for these. There's also a special move on horizontal bars - spin Lara around the bar then tap backwards as she comes to the top of the spin to stop her so she handstands momentarily, and you can then change the direction she swings. Another, while swinging on a horizontal bar, is to reverse the control direction as she begins a swing, whereupon Lara will tuck her toes into the bar as she reaches the top of the swing, then straighten out. You can also experiment with combinations of these manoeuvres, and changing directions between flips - there's no knowing what you might find!
Generally speaking, Lara's moves are now very responsive and fluid, and bear little resemblance to the lag-ridden controls from AoD. In fact, despite the superficial similarities between Lara's movement in Legend and AoD, in practice there is little comparison - now everything just seems to work with little fuss and as a result is a far better experience!
There are some new uses for the Action (Interact) control. It's not needed to grab hold of things when jumping, but sometimes when Lara jumps to grab hold of a ledge or whatever you'll see her hand slip and the Action control symbol appear onscreen. Hit it fast when you do as it could mean Lara's losing her grip and needs help to stop falling off! Once Lara has a good grip it can be released. The same control tapped in time with Lara's shimmy moves will speed up her shimmying, and the same applies for climbing chains or poles! But it's necessary to use Action to climb a swinging vine or rope at any speed as the directional control is normally used for swinging.. Otherwise Action has similar uses to those we know already.
Another use for Action is to speed up Lara's swimming, and it needs to be tapped in time with Lara's movement. Using this underwater makes Lara do some extra kicks to swim faster, but on the surface Lara will do the crawl swimming stroke, which looks great!
Collecting Goodies - Lara will automatically pick up ammo, medipacks, and grenades - all you have to do is walk over them. Weapons have to be picked up manually, but there are some things to know about weapons and ammo which I mention below so be sure to read them to avoid confusion! Lara has limited carrying capacity now so you won't be able to pick up everything you come across!
Medipacks - Medipacks are limited to a total of 3, but even on medium difficulty there are plenty scattered around or dropped so it shouldn't be a problem in most places (on high difficulty less are dropped, but there should still be plenty as long as you're careful). Some advice about medipacks - if Lara doesn't pick one up and her health's a little down, stand on it and use a medipack to top up her health. The one she's standing on will automatically be picked up to replace the one you used. This ensures that Lara's health and medipack supplies will always be at the best possible, so be sure to do this after a firefight when the bad guys have dropped their supplies!
Ammo - Lara will automatically pick up any she walks over for weapons she's carrying but Lara has limited capacity for extra ammo. This includes discarded weapons the same as she has - she'll grab the ammo from them as she walks over them, as long as she can carry it.
Weapons - Lara carries Pistols at all times, which have unlimited ammunition. However as you progress through the game there are three upgrades awarded - larger magazines, increased accuracy, and increased damage - which depend on the total number of Rewards found. Lara has limited capacity for carrying weapons - for example, in the level 'Tiwanaku' the guards carry either SMGs (Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine gun) or Assault Rifles. Lara can carry either, but not both. Later in the game you will see a Shotgun and Grenade Launcher, both of which are only useful for very specific tasks, and neither of which are essential - as Lara can only carry one larger weapon at a time it's probably best not to use these in case you forget to change back to a more useful weapon after the fight. However they can be useful when you go back to replay individual levels later on! As Lara walks over dropped weapons she'll pick up ammo for the one she has, and she can also exchange one weapon for another by standing on it and manually picking it up. The weapon she drops will retain all the ammo she had collected so she can return and exchange them again later. The one she picks up will allow her to collect any ammo to suit the new weapon. These can be exchanged anytime while they are still accessable by standing on the alternate weapon and pressing Action. One final weapon is the sword Excaliber, but this can only be used at the end of Nepal, and for the final battle in Bolivia.
Grenades - These are limited to 4 at a time, and Lara will pick up only those she can carry on her harness. Useful to make opponents take evasive action, and while they're evading keep shooting at them.

Objective - Negotiate the ravine to find the entrance to the ruins, then avoid all the traps while searching for the locked door. Solve the puzzle to open it so Lara can proceed deeper into these ruins. On the way deal with all the mercenaries Lara comes across.
Level - The game starts with a cinematic (FMV) showing Lara free climbing on some rather precipitous cliffs, while chatting to Zip and Alister on her comms headset. When it ends Lara is standing at the start of a narrow ravine leading into the mountains, with a series of waterfalls to negotiate.
Explore this area and try out the new moves. There are three small rocks Lara can kick to start them rolling, but this is just for practice. Once you've looked around, jump into the deep pool below the large waterfall, climb out on the ledge on the far side, then up to the next ledge (if Lara drops only a short distance into the water, say from a low bank, she defaults to swimming on the surface now and it looks great! Higher falls, or a swan dive, and she will be submerged.) Go around the corner to a large boulder which Lara can push off the edge to clear her way. Jump across the gap and go to the vine to the right. Climb up this then jump to the right to the next vine, and from there to the ledge on the right.
At the far end of this ledge is a swinging vine. Jump to it, but before swinging anywhere, turn Lara to look to her left. On the cliff wall above her there's a cave entrance you can swing to if you like. Go through this cave using the torch (the cave's empty), then at the far end drop into the second cave. One end of this cave faces back to the vine Lara just used, and if you don't want to check out the first cave you can swing directly into this one, which is in the cliff face behind the waterfall. Go through this second cave, and at the far end jump to the next ledge for a short cutscene. On the cliff wall next to Lara jump up and grab the crack, then shimmy left around a couple of corners until Lara is opposite the top of the waterfall. Jump backwards across this gap, and pull up to the the next section of the ravine.
Head up the left side of this section to avoid a large boulder that will roll down the stream, then continue through the gap to the next waterfall. Nearby is a rock shelf, and Lara can jump from this to grab a horizontal branch across the ravine. Shimmy to the left side, then swing to grab the next horizontal branch. From there swing to the narrow rock ledge on the left of the waterfall, shimmy right, and side jump right to grab the ledge across the other side of the waterfall. At this point there's a cutscene showing a guard above Lara looking for a climber (Lara herself, they know already!) and he's prepared to shoot on sight so you know what to expect when he sees you. He turns back up the stream and Lara pulls up. Get the guard, and be sure to grab his SMG and medipack - these could be underwater and the SMG could be hard to see so look for a slow pulsing glint of light. (Later in the level more guards drop stuff but as I noted above you can't always pick it up - I won't as a rule mention these, so just check if you can get the goodies by walking over them.)
Continue up the stream and note the structure on the right side where the stream goes to the left. Around the corner is another rock shelf, this time with a log balanced on it. If you look carefully you can see that the log is rocking and that it has a branch out to the side at the far end. If you could raise this it would allow Lara to swing to the next waterfall, but how to raise it? At this point use the Binoculars to check out the ruins above and ahead - Lara has to climb up there! Put the Binoculars away, go to the left side of the structure, and jump up to grab the narrow ledge from the higher spot on the ground. Shimmy to the right around the corner and vault and pull up onto the top of the structure, then go to the far end and push the boulder off the edge onto the end of the log. This swings the log so the horizontal branch is high enough for Lara to use! Drop back down, use this branch to swing to grab the edge of the rock in the middle of the waterfall, and pull up. Continue on a short distance to see a glinting circular object blocking the way. Use the Grapple on this, and pull it out.
Go through the now open doorway to trigger a cutscene with two guards talking. When you get control of Lara stay still for a while and listen to the rest of the conversation, then take the two guards out. Go to the next waterfall and look for a narrow ledge across the cliff face. Jump and grab this at the centre, then shimmy to the left quickly to beat the section of the ledge that collapses. If you're too slow and Lara falls off you'll need to grab the ledge again and sidejump the small gap. Jump back off the ledge to grab the horizontal bar (it bends!) then swing to grab the crack on the structure. Shimmy to the left as far as possible, and jump left to grab the next crack at the top of the lighter section of stone. Vault and pull up onto the top ledge and check the area out. Around to the left Lara can jump to a swinging vine, and using it she can swing to a ledge behind the waterfall. On the left behind the waterfall there's a hidden alcove above her head but there's nothing in there.
Continue to the right and jump to grab the first horizontal bar. Swing to the second, then to the ground ahead. Get your weapon ready for the guard around the next corner and continue on to the next gap. Ahead and above Lara is another glinting disc, and the Grapple can be used to swing across the gap - to use the Grapple first jump up, and while in the air hit the Grapple button to hit the disc. On the other side follow the passage until you reach an open area - at this point another cutscene comes in to show some new, armed, arrivals. This ain't going to be easy!
When you gain control again, don't just rush to slide down the slope to get them. First use the Pistols to target the wood holding the boulders on the top of the slope ahead, which starts them rolling. (When an object like this is shootable, it will show a special icon when Lara has her guns at the ready. But not everything that is shootable will show this icon, just those that can be used as gameplay items, so feel free to experiment on other objects!) With a bit of luck the rocks will get at least one guard who was down there! Slide down, and go to the left where another guard comes to investigate. Once he's down explore the area and dispose of any other guards you find. If you would prefer a longer range weapon for the next section, you can exchange the SMG for an Assault Rifle here as some of the guards carry them. After you change weapons, make sure you tour the area to get all possible ammo for the weapon you've chosen.
When you're ready, go to the edge near the swinging vine and use it to swing to the higher ground on the far side. Go carefully here as there are several guards waiting for Lara near the ruins! Get a decent weapon ready, slide down, and go get the guards - use Lara's sidestepping movement to reduce her injuries. If you're using the SMG shoot short bursts to save ammo! If you like, before sliding down use the object targetting to aim at the pillar to the left of the building near the first guards and shoot it to cause it to fall, possibly getting one or two of the guards in the process - this can be targetted successfully from this range even with the pistols! Once the area's clear, fix Lara's health and check out the stuff the guards dropped, then climb the steps to see a short cutscene. Before leaving, be sure you're carrying your preferred weapon - if necessary make an exchange with one of the discarded weapons lying around. The SMG is good for closer ranges, the Assault Rifle is best for longer ranges.
Follow the two unfortunates into the passage (careful!) until the floor slides back from a long pit with a nasty looking blade trap which goes a lot further than simple spikes! To cross this use the Grapple on the disc above, and get a good swing up to reach the far side. Continue up the next stairs and check out the hidden room on the left, but it's empty. Go further to the room with the chains, and examine the two chains in the centre of the room. Both these have counterweights attached that block Lara, and the object is to get to the passage high on the right. Go to the right hand chain with the higher weight, and climb as far as possible. Jump back, grab the other chain, and quickly pull up and jump back to grab the first chain above the counterweight - as you climb the second chain lowers so you need to be quick. From the first chain climb higher and jump to the high passage (you can also reach it from the second chain with luck). Note that these chain jumps are much like the old jumps except you don't have to roll Lara in mid-air, nor do you have to grab - both are automatic. Just have Lara's back in line with the second chain then hit Jump, and she will flip and grab for you.
Go to the next room and use the chain to safely drop to the floor below. Head into the small passage and go to the pool, then drop in, swim down, and head to the right. Follow the passage as it curves left - there's a room halfway around on the right you can pull up to but it doesn't have anything interesting. Continue to the far end where the bright light is, swim up, and pull out into the next passage. Lara will probably wipe the water from her eyes and rearrange her hair here so give her a moment to tidy herself up..
Continue down this passage carefully until you trigger a sliding block trap. These blocks are much slower than the old sliding blocks, but they're also a lot bigger so treat them with respect! Time a quick run between these blocks, and continue on. At the corner there's a cage, and around the corner another sliding block trap, but this time there are two sets which would be tricky to try running through. But there's a better way - grab hold of the cage by using Action and push it towards the centre of the first pair of sliding blocks. When they open, push the cage in and keep pushing until you reach the second set of blocks. Here you could push the cage just far enough to block the second set as well as the first, then climb over the cage and stroll through, or you can time it carefully to push the cage right through the second set as well. At the far end continue through to the big room, where another cutscene shows the door close behind you, as well as the exit door opposite closing and the two door opening mechanisms locking. Then have a look around the room.
This is the final room of the demo, although the full game continues further before the level ends. You need to open the door opposite, and if you look around you'll find three pressure pads close by, two of which unlock the two door lifters, and the third opens the door itself, but only once the two lifting mechanisms are unlocked. There is also a single cage close to one of the pressure pads, so pull it into place on the pressure pad to unlock the first door lifting mechanism. Now drop down to the lower level and find another two cages. One is beneath the end of the 'seesaw', so pull it out (don't push it!) and when the 'seesaw' drops push it onto the end. Climb back to the top level, and up the steps next to the other end of the 'seesaw'. Do a standing jump onto the high end of it, and Lara's weight catapults the cage onto the top level - cool trick! Drop back down to the bottom and pull the second cage into place, then repeat the jump to catapult it onto the top ledge. Move the two cages into place on the other two pressure pads, then watch the door open. Now to get to it.
If you look at the wall to the left of the exit door you can see some ledges and a horizontal bar, and a chain in the rear corner. Climb that chain to the top and jump to the crack in the pillar, then shimmy around to the right. Vault to the top edge and pull up, then jump up to grab the horizontal chain and move Lara along to the ledge on the other end. Hang off the edge, then drop to grab the lower ledge and shimmy as far to the right as you can. Do a side jump to the horizontal bar, then swing to the platform near the exit door. Head through the door to end the demo!
Now wasn't that fun, and not a key in sight!

Objective - Negotiate the ravine to find the entrance to the ruins, then avoid all the traps while searching for the locked door. Solve the puzzle to open it so Lara can proceed deeper into the ruins to reach her goal. On the way deal with all the mercenaries and dangerous animals Lara comes across.
Note - This is essentially a training area as Lara's mansion is mostly unavailable until you complete this level. So make full use of it to become familiar with all the moves, and particularly the combat moves - it's very useful to repeat the fights and practice all the special moves here while it's relatively safe, as the next level gets quite busy in places!
Playing at Maximum 'Tomb Raider' Difficulty - This level is not too hard at maximum difficulty as the fights mostly take place in more open spaces - as long as you use the terrain carefully there are still plenty of medipacks and Lara shouldn't suffer too much damage. The final fight is a little hectic, so you need to be more diligent about grabbing any medipacks you see during that fight.
Level - When the cinematics end, Lara is standing at the start of a narrow ravine leading into the mountains, with a series of waterfalls to negotiate.
Explore this area and try out the new moves. There are three small rocks Lara can kick to start them rolling, but this is just for practice. Also check around the lower levels of this area for the first two Bronze Rewards. Once you've looked around, jump into the deep pool below the large waterfall, climb out on the ledge on the far side, then up to the next ledge (if Lara drops only a short distance into the water, say from a low bank, she defaults to swimming on the surface - higher falls and she will be submerged.) Go around the corner to a large boulder which Lara can push off the edge to clear her way. Jump across the gap and go to the vine to the right. Climb up this then jump to the right to the next vine, and from there to the ledge on the right.
At the far end of this ledge is a swinging vine. Jump to it and turn Lara to look to her left. On the cliff wall above her there's a cave entrance she can swing to - go through this cave using the torch and get the first Silver Reward, then at the far end drop into the second cave. One end of this cave faces back to the vine Lara just used, but Lara needs to go through to the far end. At the far end jump to the next ledge for a short cutscene.
From there swing to the narrow rock ledge on the left of the waterfall, shimmy right, and side jump to grab the ledge across the other side of the waterfall. At this point there's a cutscene showing a guard above Lara looking for a climber (Lara herself, they know already!) He turns back up the stream and Lara pulls up. Get the guard, and be sure to grab his medipack if he drops one. (Later in the level more guards drop stuff but as I noted above you can't always pick it up - I won't as a rule mention these, so just check if you can get the goodies by walking over them.)
Continue up the stream and note the structure on the right side where the stream goes to the left. Around the corner is the third Bronze Reward and another rock shelf, this time with a log balanced on it. If you look carefully you can see that the log is rocking and that it has a branch out to the side at the far end. If you could raise this it would allow Lara to swing to the next waterfall, but how to raise it? At this point use the Binoculars to check out the ruins above and ahead - Lara has to climb up there! Put the Binoculars away and go to the left side of the structure and jump up to grab the narrow ledge. It's a good idea to save your game here so you can try out Lara's new combat moves without any real danger!
Go through the now open doorway to trigger a cutscene with two guards talking. When you get control of Lara stay still for a while and listen to the rest of the conversation, then take the two guards out while practicing the new jumps and slow motion actions. Cool! Check your health, then go to the next waterfall and look for a narrow ledge across the cliff face. Jump and grab this at the centre, then shimmy to the left quickly to beat the section of the ledge that collapses. If you're too slow you'll need to grab the ledge again and sidejump the small gap. Jump back off the ledge to grab the horizontal bar (it bends!) then swing to grab the crack on the next structure. Shimmy to the left as far as possible, and jump left to grab the next crack at the top of the lighter section of stone. Vault and pull up onto the top ledge and check the area out. Around to the left Lara can jump to a swinging vine, and using it she can swing to a wide ledge behind the waterfall.
On the left behind the waterfall there's a hidden alcove above Lara's head with the fourth Bronze Reward. Continue to the right and jump to grab the first horizontal bar. Swing to the second, then to the ground ahead. Get your weapon ready for the guard around the next corner, take him out carefully as there's not a lot of space, and continue on to the next gap. Before proceeding, be sure to collect any medipacks Lara can carry and max out her health if necessary.
Ahead and above Lara is another glinting disc, and the Grapple can be used to swing across the gap - to use the Grapple first jump up, and while in the air hit the Grapple button to attach it to the disc. On the other side follow the passage to the right hand corner, move a short distance around the corner, then turn around and look for the fifth Bronze Reward in a niche up in the wall. Use the Grapple to pull it down, then continue down the passage until you reach an open area - at this point another cutscene comes in to show some new, armed, arrivals. This ain't going to be easy!
When you gain control again, don't just rush to slide down the slope to get them. First use the Pistols to target the wood holding the boulders on the top of the slope ahead, which starts them rolling. (When an object is shootable, it will show a special icon when Lara has her guns at the ready.) With a bit of luck the rocks will get at least one guard who was down there! Slide down, and go to the left where another guard comes to investigate. Once he's down explore the area and dispose of any other guards you find. One of these guys drops an SMG (Heckler & Koch MP5) here as some of the guards carry them. After you pick it up, make sure you tour the area to get all possible ammo for the weapon you've chosen, and any medipacks Lara can use. Also look for the sixth and seventh Bronze Rewards tucked away in a couple of dark corners.
When you're ready, go to the edge near the swinging vine and use it to swing to the higher ground on the far side (you need to climb a little higher up the vine first). Go carefully here as there are several guards waiting for Lara near the ruins! Before sliding down, draw the Pistols and use the manual targetting to aim for the loose masonry near the base of the pillar across near the left of the temple wall - with luck when this falls it will get at least one of the guards for you (this should also be possible with the Object attack with the pistols, even though it may be greyed out, but manual targetting is more accurate). Or ignore it if you like extra thrills.. Switch back to auto targetting, get a decent weapon ready, slide down, and go get the guards - use Lara's sidestepping movement to reduce her injuries, and try out the jumps, rolls, and special combat moves. If you're using the SMG shoot short bursts to save ammo! Once the area's clear, fix Lara's health, check out the stuff the guards dropped, and top up Lara's health. You can change the SMG for an RC650 Assault Rifle here if you like.
Before going on, have a look at the masonry ledges to the left of the staircase as you face the building facade. Underneath the top floor level is a breakable wall, and Lara should be able to pick it up with the Binoculars in RAD mode. Use the Pistols to shoot the wall out, and go into the small cavity for the second Silver Reward. Then climb the steps to see a short cutscene if you've not triggered it yet (if you don't climb the steps this may not be triggered).
Continue up the next stairs and check out the hidden room on the left for the eighth Bronze Reward. Just have Lara's back in line with the second chain, then hit Jump, and she will flip and grab for you. Alternatively, Lara will jump in the direction you choose with the directional controls.
Go to the next room and use the chain to safely drop to the floor below. Head into the small passage and go to the pool, then drop in, swim down, and head to the right. Follow the passage as it curves left - there's a room halfway around on the right you can pull up to and there you'll find the ninth Bronze Reward. Continue to the far end where the bright light is, swim up, and pull out into the next passage. Lara may wipe the water from her eyes and rearrange her hair here so give her a moment to tidy herself up..
Continue down this passage carefully, get the Jaguar which is waiting for Lara down the stairs, then go on until you trigger a sliding block trap. These blocks are much slower than the old sliding blocks, but they're also a lot bigger so treat them with respect! Time a quick run between these blocks, and continue on. At the corner there's a cage, and around the corner another sliding block trap, but this time there are two sets which would be tricky to try running through. But there's a better way - grab hold of the cage (Action) and push it towards the centre of the first pair of sliding blocks. There's another Jaguar on the lower level in the water so it's probably a good idea to get it before moving on.
You need to open the door opposite, and if you look around you'll find three pressure pads close by, two of which unlock the two door lifters, and the third opens the door itself, but only once the two lifting mechanisms are unlocked. Dota battle tanks ai map.
Now that you've seen how the door works there are three goodies to get before going on, but you need to fix the door to lock it part open before going for them. Firstly, pull the centre cage off so the door closes. Then go to one of the other two cages and pull it off the pressure pad. Go back and push the centre cage back onto the pressure pad which opens the door, but as the lifting mechanism is now locked the door won't open. What you need to do is to raise the door partway, then jam it there so you can reach a goodie. Turn Lara to face the exit door and bring the camera behind her so you can see what's happening. Look for the narrow ledges in the pillars on either side of the door - there are two in each pillar. You need to use the topmost ledge as a reference for opening the door. Step onto the pressure pad that operates the lifting mechanism lock, and watch as the door rises. The carved figure on the door appears to have a 'mouth', which is actually a narrow ledge in the door - when this rises just far enough so it's level with the top ledge on the side pillars, get off the pressure pad so the door jams at that point. The door will now be moving a little up and down around that point, just what we need!
Now to get the first goodie. Go to the alcove behind the lifting mechanism in the rear right corner (as you look towards the exit door, which is at the 'front' of the room) and grab the tenth Bronze Reward. Go back to the centre of the room, and look at the wall to the left of the exit door where you can see some ledges and a horizontal bar, and a chain in the rear corner. Jump to that chain from the alcove next to it, climb to the top, jump to the crack in the pillar on the side wall, then shimmy around to the right. (If you can't get hold of the first chain, try re-doing the door jam sequence with the opposite pressure pad.)
When you reach the next checkpoint, save your game so you don't have to do all that again. Before heading through the doorway, go across to the far side of the platform across the front of the exit door, and look for a narrow ledge leading to the second door lifting mechanism on the near side of the closest pillar. Jump to it, and shimmy Lara around the corner and along until she's under the near side of the ledge above (much the same as the first shimmy on the other side of the room). Vault and climb up, then use the chain on this side to get across to the other ledge. Grab the third Silver Reward, then head back the way you came until Lara reaches the end facing the exit door platform where she started. Lara can vault and climb onto a ledge above, from where she can jump to the platform safely.
Now for the third goodie before leaving this room. Go to either side of the exit door and jump up to grab the first of the two narrow ledges. Vault to the top ledge, then get ready for an awkward jump to grab the narrow crack where the mouth is on the door. When the door is at its lowest, side jump and grab the ledge, then as the door drops again vault to grab the top of the door. When the door is at its highest vault up again, then up into the hidden alcove above the door. Take your prize, the first Gold Reward, and make your way carefully back down to the floor.
Have you noticed something about these Rewards? Yes, the Bronze ones are quite easy to find and get, the Silver harder, and the Gold quite tricky. That's as it should be I suppose..
When you're ready, head through the door at a crouch if necessary (no need to open it fully, which is why I did the room in this order). Beware - the passage ahead is a trap, but you may have guessed that already because the floor looks a bit familiar.. This time it's a bit different as the game will take Lara through the traps in an interactive cutscene, and all you have to do is to hit whatever control the game asks for, and quickly, so that Lara can avoid getting sliced and diced. This style of gameplay doesn't happen often and for that I'm grateful as I would much rather do it myself.. In this case it just requires two actions from the player - Duck and Jump - at the appropriate moments. Once past the trap head around the corner to the next checkpoint and save your game. (You may have noticed a Reward as you went through, but that's for a little later.)
Continue down the passage to the pit. Before proceeding check out the room below for another Jaguar. You can get it from here or down below, but as you risk losing a little health with a close encounter and you're soon going to need all the health you have, it's possible to take it out from up here. Draw the Pistols, and switch to manual aim mode. Scan the floor below until you see the Jaguar, put the aim point on it, then click off the manual targetting. When Lara is targetting an enemy manually, she should hold the target when switching to automatic targetting, so then just start shooting. She will track the Jaguar as it runs around the floor, and eventually it will go down. If Lara loses her aim, do the manual thing again.
When the Jaguar's down, hang off the edge and shimmy right. Drop to the next narrow ledge below, then down another ledge, and from there to the rocks on the floor. Check out the room, which contains four gadgets that look much like rotary clothes lines, and actually function the same way by rotating 90 degrees when Lara jumps to them (but I don't think they're intended for hanging clothes..) Also use the Binoculars in RAD mode to find a moveable block embedded in the wall below the passage Lara came from. First push that block in as far as it will go, then go through the cave on the right to the pit under the trap passage for the fourth Silver Reward you saw from above. Head back out and check out the room. The rotary gadget that's lit up is where to start, but before doing it use the Binoculars in RAD mode to look at the back wall. Across the wall there's a narrow ledge, and in the dark corner on the right you can just see ledges above it. In the centre of the back wall is another passage. That's where you're going, eventually, but first there's the final Reward to get.
From the pile of rocks near the first gadget jump and grab the nearest arm at the outer end where the spikes aren't. It will turn through 90 degrees to face the centre gadget. Swing to grab the outer end of the arm on the next one, which will then turn so Lara can swing to the next one in the back left corner. When that swings around jump to grab the narrow ledge on the back wall. Shimmy to the right to the gap, jump across, and line Lara up with the left arm of the last gadget. Jump back and grab it, then when it's swung around swing to the small alcove with the Fifth Silver Reward. Jump back to the same arm, then to the ledge when it swings around. Shimmy right as far as Lara can go.
Now Lara has to vault to the higher ledge. This is a longer vault than before, so Lara could need a little extra help. You may have noticed that Lara hangs from a wall crack in two ways, with either one or both feet on the wall. She seems to be able to vault higher with both feet on the wall, so swing the camera behind her and push the movement control up so she puts both feet on the wall. Vault up, move right a bit, and repeat the vault to an even higher ledge above (it helps to have the PLS turned on when doing this so you can see in the darkness). Shimmy left, side jump the gap, go left around the corner, and drop into the next passage. Go forward and climb into the top level, then continue through the passage until you reach the Checkpoint. Save your game here as the next bit is quite dangerous!
Continue through this passage, but before going near the end check out the standing stones, and the wooden bridge across to them. That's where Lara's going, but if you look carefully on the right you can also see part of a helicopter. Oh dear, that means more bad guys.! Continue down the passage and a cinematic cuts in, showing another flashback of Lara and her mother (in Nepal?), and then to the present with the bad guys (Rutland in charge..) and some more of the story. Interesting! When this cutscene ends start running as the chopper is shooting at Lara and smashing the bridge in the process. Jump the gaps as they open up, then jump to grab the edge of the plateau the standing stones are on. Pull up, and get your best weapon out for a big fight!
Keep moving around during the battle, and use the combat moves like the sliding attack to do the most damage. There are a lot of these guys, so be sure to keep your eyes on Lara's health as well! If you'd been careful to gather as much health as you could find before entering the ruins you should have enough, but grab any that are lying around as you use your stock up and make space in the backpack. If Lara dies you'll be sent back to the last Checkpoint in the final passage so it's not too far back, and you can cancel the cinematics in the menu next time (although a single button press to do that would be nice..) When the last mercenary goes down there is a cinematic to end the level, then a second cinematic back at Croft Manor where she learns she has to go to Peru. She'd have been better to stay in Bolivia - Peru's next door..
At the end of the level you'll be shown what items you've unlocked, depending on how many Rewards you found. You will now have access to the areas at Croft Manor that were locked before so you can now go check that out as well, but be sure you've saved the start of the next level, Peru, before leaving the game. When you want to leave the Manor, save the Rewards when prompted into the latest savegame - it will save as the level you just left, just in case you're confused, and that save will now include data for the level and the Manor separately. Once that save is stored, returning to the Manor will give you all the goodies you'd already collected!
Rewards in this level - 1 Gold, 5 Silver, 10 Bronze

Objective - Follow up clues Lara's picked up about Tiwanaku from Rutland, and on the way investigate the possibility that Amanda may not have died in the incident at the digsite some time ago.
Playing at Maximum 'Tomb Raider' Difficulty - The early fights here can be quite tricky, so you need to be careful! At the first battle, try to get into one of the side alleys either side of the wide stairs as soon as possible, so Lara can take the bad guys on one at a time without exposing herself too much. It's very useful to go for the explosive targets in this area as soon as possible! Later in Pt.1 it could pay to use the Grapple to swing across to the opposite rooftop as soon as you reach the final area (the streets after going through the small room) as this gives Lara more protection from the bad guys below, and more room to manoeuvre. From this larger roof you can stay back and target the gunmen on the roofs and balconies first, thus getting rid of the most dangerous threats before dropping to the street. The other place that can be tricky is the last battle when Lara climbs back to meet Anaya at the end of Pt. 4, where you have to fight large numbers of gunmen. This needs Lara to never stand still, and to always be aware of grenades aimed at her - try to keep jumping and rolling to reduce the gunshot damage, and as soon as you see a grenade coming Lara's way, get some distance from it! As ever, you'll need to be particularly aware of any medipacks that are dropped and do your best to grab them on the run.
Level - This level is actually several smaller levels strung together, so it's quite long and varied! I'll separate them into parts according to their themes.
Return to Paraiso Pt. 1 - The Village
When the level loads after a short cinematic showing the population running away, Lara is in a dusty street surrounded by buildings, with rubbish and dust blowing around (a nice touch!) Nearby is a soccer ball, and you're free to kick this to your heart's content - Lara may not be much use with it, but you can still have some harmless fun. (There's an Easter Egg here - behind the dummy is an opening in a fence with flags strung above it, and the first time you kick the soccer ball through the opening you hear a cheer of 'Goal!' from the hidden crowd!) Lara can use the dummy for shooting practice, and for practicing all the combat moves that will shortly come in handy. Practice the kick, slide, slo-mo jump, jumps, rolls etc. while shooting, and generally do whatever you want as no-one's going to come and hassle you as long as you stay away from the archway down the street. Be sure not to use anything other than the Pistols though as you're going to need all the ammo you can get your hands on in the next area! For details of the control methods for all the melee attacks see the manual. This is the first chance you get in the game to practice the combat moves in safety, and I highly recommend taking some time out to do so before facing a whole bunch of bad guys in the next area! You may not need all the moves yet, but it all helps to improve your general control skills.
Before leaving this area there's a goodie to get. Look behind the building on Lara's right at the start of the level and use the low block on the back wall to reach the roof. If you go to the corner of the roof nearest the dummy, you can find a Grapple point on a telegraph pole overhead - use this to swing across the lane to the roof of the building that was on Lara's left when the level started. Behind these buildings in a small alley is the first Bronze Reward for this level. To get back out, move the crate to the low fence, and use it to jump back into the street. Go towards the archway opening into the village square, and as soon you reach the checkpoint save your game for the wild action to come!
Go through the archway and watch a short cinematic of Lara talking to Anaya, but they are rudely interrupted when a truck smashes through the gates. Lara is beset by a large number of bad guys - they initially seem to be everywhere, but try to stay at a distance and pick off the nearest first, while keeping behind cover wherever possible. You are also able to target some unstable items here and blow them up, which can help Lara - the truck fuel tank is vulnerable, as is something on the cart, and a gas cylinder on the ground across the square. When they're all down watch out for another guy who appears on a balcony, but as he only has a Shotgun and Lara a Rifle (grab one on the ground if you didn't bring it from the first level), he's easy to get from a distance. Once it's all quiet move around and grab as much ammo as Lara can carry and max your health out. Go down the alley near the flagpole and grab the second Bronze Reward, then head up the stairs of the large building near the truck and jump onto the roof of the market stall, and from there to the flat roof nearby. Go to the left, use the two horizontal poles to swing to the far roof, and grab the third Bronze Reward. Use the zipline to slide down to the street for a bit of fun.
Go to the flagpole, climb up, and backflip to the balcony. Go to the nearby door, kick it open, and head in to get the first Silver Reward of the level. Go back out onto the balcony and use the Grapple on the overhead light to swing to the next balcony, and go to the room the Shotgun guy came from. Watch out as you go in and don't let Lara get jumped by another bad guy, then grab the grenades off the table. The cupboard in here can be kicked open but doesn't contain anything. Once you're ready go to the doors and save your game.
Kick the doors open and back away down the room so as not to attract too much agro. Get the Assault Rifle out and start taking out the bad guys one by one, starting with the guy on the balcony ahead. Once you've taken out as many as can be seen from this room, head outside onto the metal roof and start taking the rest out. You can move back on the roof a bit and start with the guy on the rooftop opposite, then the one on the balcony to the left, then take out those in the street, only moving as far forward as necessary, but watch out for grenades! Alternatively you may prefer to take the initiative, and drop down to street level to press your attacks closer to the bad guys, with the advantage that Lara has more room to manoeuvre. To make it a little easier, don't go near the corner yet as that will cause a couple of extra bad guys to appear and complicate things! There are a couple of explosive targets here if you like fireworks, and they go off very spectacularly! You can use the Grapple on the overhead light to swing quickly to the opposite roof, but it's not necessary. When they're all down drop to the street and get all the goodies Lara can carry, but don't run around the corner yet. There's some ladders and drainpipes Lara can use to climb to the rooftops, and there's a last bad guy waiting just around the first street corner on the balcony to the right - it's best to get him from the balcony before going to the corner at ground level as he can be a pest.
Drop to the street again and continue on. More bad guys come looking and these guys are very prone to throwing grenades if you're unlucky, so be sure to dodge or Lara's toast in very short fashion. As Lara has some grenades now you can use them against the bad guys, and as they scatter be sure to keep shooting. A small truck also comes into play, and as it has a heavy machine gun mounted on the tray it's a good idea to target this before finishing off the bad guys, or better, target the item above the truck so it drops on the gunner. Check out the street but stay away from the motorcycle for the moment as when you approach it this part ends. Go to the spot where you came across the second batch of bad guys (between the two corners) and head down the small alley there to grab the fourth Bronze Reward, then do a final check around the streets for goodies before making your way to the bike.
Return to Paraiso Pt. 2 - The Bike Chase
When you're ready go up to the bike to trigger a short cutscene - this next section is a timed run as Anaya is in danger, although it's not necessarily obvious. The bike is fun, but the physics aren't very realistic, so you can do things you wouldn't dream of in the real world (of course!) When you get control of Lara you find yourself heading down a dirt road - use the Jump button to accelerate, and hold it hard down as much as possible. The road is a bit bendy, and there are crates and medipacks scattered around - try to avoid the crates and run over the medipacks as Lara is going to lose some health before this ends. Also try to avoid the rock walls and assorted rock pillars and other obstacles you come across on the ride. And watch out for ramps you can use to jump obstacles, or maybe explosives you can target to remove an obstacle.
But of course, it's not that easy.. As well as all the obstacles and jumps, what else are you up against than a whole bunch of bad bikers with guns - it's lucky Lara can shoot and ride at the same time! All you have to do to shoot is to hold the fire button and blaze away, while keeping the speed up, avoiding obstacles, using the jumps, riding over medipacks, and keeping an eye on Lara's health. All in a day's adventuring for Lara, but quite frantic while it lasts! It's best to tap the health button while you're on a straight section of road, just in case you get distracted.. Don't worry about the bad guys coming up behind Lara as they have a tendency to overtake her, shooting all the time, so you get the chance to nail them eventually. It's a good idea to try to not get too close to the other bikes, but as long as you watch Lara's health it's not that critical. And keep up a bit of a weave, if you aren't already doing that anyway from lack of time on the bike with unfamiliar controls!
There are some jumps that only get Lara airborne so she can drop in on the bad guys from above, but others must be used, like one to jump a barrier, and others to jump gaps in a broken and burning bridge (full of holes as well)! If you fall too far behind on the ride you'll get a message from Zip that Anaya's phone has hung up, in which case the ride ends and you're kicked back to try again. The same happens if Lara dies. Eventually you'll come up on several trucks with bad guys on board, who push crates off to try to stop Lara. Pass the first truck and move up to the lead truck, then shoot the bad guys on board and ride up the now lowered tailgate onto the tray of the truck. Another cutscene comes in where Lara climbs over the cab of the truck and jumps into Anaya's Jeep while shooting the driver of the lead truck. The trucks crash and burn and this section ends with a cutscene showing yet another part of the backstory, where Lara is with Amanda when an accident happens at a digsite.
Return to Paraiso Pt. 3 - Paraiso Incident
This is a relatively short, but interesting, playable flashback, and Lara is in the classic outfit she was wearing during the previous cutscene. She is at the bottom of a pit, the rope she came down having broken away from its mount on the beam above the pit. Lara has no weapons or other goodies, but she does have an unlimited supply of flares. Use these by tapping the Grenade/Flare button, or hold it down and release for a longer throw. Use these flares often as the tunnels are very dark and there are some traps you won't want to blunder into! During this short section there are several conversations detailing what happened to the original party.
Go forward and duck through the low gap into the tunnel. These tunnels look great but you need to use a lot of flares to see them properly. Go along the tunnel to the edge of the pit and use the bar to monkey swing across. Continue to the junction, and go left to follow Amanda who is urging Lara on. There is a rock fall that blocks the way, so Lara has to go back and take the other tunnel - continue through to reach a room with a body on the floor. Approach the body to learn that it's Sarah, another expedition member. At the other end of the room is a high ledge, and if Lara steps on the large pressure pad in the middle of the room she triggers a derelict trap with only one good spear, which jams so she doesn't need to put a weight on the pad to keep it activated. Go back to Sarah and pull the crate next to her around so it's close to the only good spear. Climb on the crate, jump to the spear, and swing to the ledge ahead. Grab the fifth Bronze Reward in the corner of the ledge, then go across the ledge and jump to the narrow ledge on the end wall. Shimmy left, then jump to the left to reach the next section of the passage.
Continue through to the next room and go to the right through the gap in the spear trap. Go to the door and talk to Kent, then pull the large ball off the pressure pad and shove it well out of the way so the spears retract, which will allow Lara to reach the high ledge. Go back through the safe side of the trap, which triggers it, but it doesn't stay out as this one is working properly. Climb on the ledge to the right, turn around and jump to the rope, then swing to the high ledge above Kent. Go to the far side and take a deep breath, there's a dangerous bit to come!
Drop off the edge for a cutscene where Kent talks to Lara then runs off to look for Amanda. Unfortunately there's a rather hideous monster - the Unknown Entity - roaming these tunnels, and it goes after Kent, then comes for Lara. Lara runs for her life, and as soon as you get control of her again you have to continue running down the passage, jumping a couple of rock falls, until Lara falls into a pit at the far end and the Unknown Entity goes over her and vanishes.
Go to the ledge in the corner, and push the large ball off so it rolls down the room. Drop down and push the ball onto the pressure pad here, to trigger another spear trap which is also damaged. Go back to the ball ledge, and jump to the next ledge where Lara and Amanda talk through the bars before the Unknown Entity chases her further around. Jump to the spear, swing to the rope, and then swing to the high ledge at the far end of the room. Go around to the right and grab the sixth Bronze Reward, then head for the next tunnel entrance.
Go carefully down here as there's a classic spike pit that you have to monkey swing across using the bar. A little further a cutscene comes in where Lara catches up with Amanda, and the Unknown Entity catches up with them both. Luckily Amanda figures out how to stop it, but in doing so the room starts to collapse. They run for the exit, but Amanda's foot is trapped by some falling rocks, and a set of bars drop to close the room and trap Lara outside. Lara struggles to lift the bars, but the tunnels start to flood and more rocks fall, trapping Amanda, and Lara has to escape alone.
This ends the story of the incident that was thought to have claimed the life of the all the expedition but Lara.
Return to Paraiso Pt 4 - Amanda?
This next part starts with a cutscene back in the present day, with Lara and Anaya talking about Lara's wish to find out what happened to Amanda as she still has a niggling suspicion that she could have survived the incident. Anaya is unable to go with Lara so Lara is left to investigate alone. The old dig has been boarded over and is blocked by rockfalls, so Lara has to find another way into the tunnels.
Before proceeding search around the digsite for the seventh and eighth Bronze Rewards, then go to the water and drop in. Below you there is a vertical shaft at the bottom of the deep pool, and that's where Lara's going. Don't forget that Lara can swim a little faster when necessary by tapping Action in time with her swimming. Dive down, go through the passage, and at the end surface and get your breath. Dive down again and go through the broken bars, then surface for some more air. Dive and go through the next opening then up to get some more air. Dive yet again and swim through to the large room, then surface and look around. (If you get lost during these dives, each successive passage entrance is at the bottom of each vertical shaft so dive to the bottom each time to find the correct passage.) Underwater in the large room you can see four blue lights - these are four stones you need to pull, but they are timed so need to be done in a single dive. Dive down to any one of them, pull it, and fast swim (tap Action while swimming) to the next three in turn around the walls, pulling each in turn (keep tapping Action and Lara will pull them automatically as she reaches them, without the need to line her up carefully). Do it in time and a cutscene will show Lara surfacing, and the room draining.
This is the room Lara and Amanda were in when Amanda was trapped at the end of the previous backstory. Amanda's shoe is there which tends to indicate that she did actually free herself, but there's no other indication as to what may have happened to her. Check around the room for the second Silver Reward in one of the short side passages, then go to the broken stone wall and jump through. Look at the large stone tablet directly ahead and listen to Lara's translation, then go around the back to the next passage. Lara can't get up the slope ahead so go to the wall opposite the wide ledge above on the right, climb up two ledges, and jump back to the wide ledge. From there use the Grapple on the high grapple point to swing to the passage above the slope, then go to the wall on the right and climb up two ledges into the alcove. From the side of the alcove where the edge is broken use the Grapple on the second grapple point to reach the top of the second slope. Go forward to the next room, noticing as you reach it that there's a bit of shaking - this is a warning about an earthquake that will make the next section dangerous. You also reach a Checkpoint, further hinting that something tricky may be coming up shortly!
Negotiating the first part of this room requires another interactive cutscene. Go up the steps to the floor with the large pavers, where Lara will carefully walk out on the stone slabs, but they start to collapse under her. The cutscene then goes interactive and you need to use the three successive controls that are shown on the screen - first Run, then Jump, and finally Action to help Lara grab the last ledge. Once you reach the next room, stop and take it all in. Use the Binoculars in RAD mode and carefully scan all around the room to see the things you need to interact with. There are three hollows in the floor, which require three heavy objects to trigger. On either side of the room is a massive statue, and directly ahead a mechanism in the centre of the floor pointing at an alcove where there is a carving with two jewels for eyes. Either side of the alcove is a ladder, but there's no need to bother with them yet.
Firstly move the ball on the left onto the hollow in the floor nearby. This activates the massive statue on the left, opening two large panels and throwing a shaft of light across the mechanism in the middle of the floor. Now look for the other two balls. One is on a pillar near the stairs where you entered this room, which can be pulled over with the Grapple. Move this ball onto the hollow on the right, to open the second massive statue and throw the second shaft of light across the central mechanism. However you'll notice that the light is going over the top, so you need to raise the mechanism so it intercepts the light shafts.
When the second statue opened it exposed a couple of ladders - similar ladders exist on the statue on the opposite side of the room, but they're broken and Lara can't reach them. Go to the right side statue and climb either ladder until Lara can't climb further. In the centre of the statue between the two ladders is a ledge you can side jump to. From the centre of that ledge, vault up higher a couple of times until Lara can side jump back to one of the ladders above the gap, then climb to the top and push the third ball off. Climb back down the left ladder, but this time you only need to release Lara's grip to drop past the gap in the ladder.
Push the third ball onto the centre hollow, then watch what happens. The mechanism rises so the two shafts of light are intercepted and reflected into the alcove. This causes two stone panels high above to open, revealing a new passage. Climb the ladder on either side of the alcove, and go into the passage for a cutscene where Lara discovers another part of the broken sword of which Rutland had one piece.
After the cutscene Lara's back at the entrance to the high passage, having learned from Anaya that the bad guys are coming to get her - Lara has to make her way back out following the route she came in, but now she has some opposition. Turn right and jump to grab one of the ledges on the stone, vault up to the top, and go across to the edge nearest the ladder on the first statue with the broken ladders. Jump to this, climb to the top, and go across to the other side. From there jump to the pillar, then grab the ledge on the wall and shimmy left around the corner, side jump two gaps, shimmy a little further, and drop down onto the pillar over the deep pit. There's a rope hanging over the pit, and there are a couple of bad guys waiting for Lara on the other side of the pit where she came into this room. Ignore them for now as Lara will lose too much health trying to shoot them at this distance (even using the Assault Rifle), and they won't bother her yet if she leaves them alone.
Before going down and explaining the meaning of life to the mercenaries, there's a side trip to get the last Reward for this level. Jump to the rope, and turn slightly left to face the opposite wall. Climb up the rope a fair way until Lara is about level with the high narrow ledge running along the wall. Directly opposite the ledge is badly damaged, but a little to the left where there's a sort of pillar it's OK and she can grab it. Position Lara on the rope slightly below the level of the ledge and face the good section, then get a good swing up and jump to the ledge. Shimmy left, jump the gap, and continue until Lara's under a dark alcove. Vault up and go through to the right up the slope. Push the ball up there to the top edge of the slope and let go of it - it will roll down, smash the wall, then slowly roll out, bounce off the pillar and land on the floor. If it doesn't smash the wall try again, making sure the ball is at the top of the slope when letting it go so it has enough momentum to smash through.
Drop out of the broken wall opening onto the pillar, then jump to the low ledge beside the massive statue. Make your way down to the floor, and push the last ball across to the centre hollow, directly behind the central mechanism - the extra weight of both balls makes the mechanism rise further to expose the Gold Reward. Grab the goodie and retrace your steps up the centre ladder and around to the rope again, and this time swing to the pillar on the other side of the pit. Make your way down to the mercenaries, and when they're ex-mercs go back down the passage you came in. Lara only has to retrace her steps to get out, but she will have to fight her way out of here now the bad guys have arrived so be sure to grab any goodies they drop (you may need Lara's PLS to see some of them). At the bottom of the first slope is another merc, then continue down to the room below and use the manual aim to throw a Grenade through the hole in the wall to ruin the day for the three mercs in the next room. Jump through with guns blazing, then once they're down climb the rope the mercs left in place and swing into the passage at the top.
Continue through to the ladder and go through the broken bars at the top. Go to the left and climb up, and get the next merc waiting for Lara. Go to the rope further up the passage and climb up to the digsite, but be careful as there is a welcome party assembled for Lara. This is a bit tougher than the fight at the end of Bolivia, so you'll need to be very careful, especially when they throw grenades. Use the ruined hut for shelter when possible, but this puts many of the bad guys out of range so it is probably better just to keep moving and use the various rolls and jumps to avoid too much damage to Lara. At least you only get thrown back to the edge of the pit if Lara dies so there's not a lot to redo, and it could be good practice anyway! During the fight be sure to keep Lara's health up and grab any goodies possible - these bad guys seem to go on for ever, but at the end of the fight there'll be a short cutscene and a last merc appears above Lara near the Jeep. When he goes down the level ends and Lara talks to Anaya about Amanda's disappearance, and to Zip about her next challenge in Japan.

Tomb Raider Legend Walkthrough Ps2 England 2017
Objective - Lara is chasing another part of the sword, which is held by Takamoto in Japan. Takamoto is a Yakuza leader and has the loyalty of plenty of henchmen and little regard for the law, so this is not a simple matter of buying it. He doesn't want to relinquish it, so Lara's left with no choice..
Playing at Maximum 'Tomb Raider' Difficulty - As you'd expect, the gunmen you meet along the way are more difficult to deal with at this level, particularly in the small rooms. But one of the areas I found most tricky was the large office area with the giant TV screen, because the bad guys had some cover and were quite persistent. Most of the other parts, including the final apartment area, weren't too bad, but what was really tricky at this difficulty was the final battle with Takamoto. The reason is partly because his attacks were quite damaging on this difficulty level, and this was compounded by a lack of medipacks in the final few rooms, which were fairly damaging but without enough medipacks to get Lara's health maxed before the final battle. So I faced Takamoto with only two spare medipacks, and that made it extremely difficult - I made it through with just a whisker of health left, after many tries! To beat Takamoto you need to avoid the energy attacks with jumps or rolls as much as possible, but never stop shooting as every hit counts, even at longer range! To do some serious damage to Takamoto in this battle requires you to get close, but as soon as you do that you're exposing Lara to some serious damage herself, with the likelihood of a string of attacks that don't give Lara time to recover and get out of the way of the next attack. This boss battle can take some perseverance, and you need a good spatial awareness and good control skills. But it still seems that the Pistols are the better option unless you find enough ammo for the Shotgun..
Level - Lara is in a plush corridor, having just exited the elevator. As she's pretending to be a lady, at least for the moment, she won't run, so walk down the passage and down the stairs to the party in the atrium. Mingle if you like, then go to the bar and talk to the barman who'll send you down the passage to Nishimura's room. Open the door, after which Lara has a short talk to Nishimura during a cutscene. When you get Lara back, go down the passage towards the atrium for another cutscene where Lara faces Takamoto and his minions - the party guests all suddenly found the need to be elsewhere when the Yakuza came in! Lara dives behind the bar and 'changes' for the fun part of the evening - now you have weapons, dispose of all the Yakuza thugs, and be sure to pick up one of the heavier weapons they drop, and grab any ammo, grenades, and medipacks lying around. Then go down the passage to the left of the bar and use the elevator to get to the rooftop.
There's a bike in a locked room, and a helipad through a glass door down the passage. Head out there first, and check out the cityscape - it's quite spectacular, right down to traffic moving in the streets far below! Look around the roof to see what's what, and take special notice of the partially completed bridge and the shootable drum. Shoot the drum and it explodes, exposing a pipe up which Lara can climb. At the top jump to the right then climb up onto the roof. Go to the far side and climb on the container, and from there to the highest part of the building. Use manual aim with the Pistols to shoot the crate, and grab the first Bronze Reward. Drop down to the skylight and move it out of the way with the Grapple. Drop into the small room below, and go down the stairs to the room with the bike. Check this room for another two crates containing the second Bronze Reward and the first Silver Reward - to see the second crate move some cardboard boxes out of the way.
Get on the bike and head out through the now open door to the helipad area, and get ready for a jump across the partly completed bridge. Now for another interactive cutscene.. Ride round to the right then gun the bike at the bridge. A cutscene comes in as Lara reaches the ramp, during which she needs to Grapple, Jump, then Crouch (to avoid the explosion) - these are tightly timed, and the onscreen prompts can be difficult to see with all that's happening in the background. When you get Lara back, drop down to the lower level of the scaffolding and go to the far end. Shoot the crate there for the third Bronze Reward, then retrace your steps back to the top level. Jump to the horizontal bar and swing to the top scaffold, but as this section isn't secured firmly Lara will have to do a running jump to the next scaffold to make it across. Go forward and use the Pistols on manual targetting to shoot out the ring holding the dangling payload to the rope, then jump to the rope and swing to the next scaffold. Go to the far end and use the Zipline to cross to the building opposite.
Go to the left and use the Grapple to pull the maintenance platform towards Lara. The next bit will be easier if you pull it several times to get a big swing up - pull it, then let go of the Action button momentarily as it swings away but don't release the Grapple, then start pulling again as it starts the swing back towards you, repeating as necessary. Once the platform is reaching Lara, release the Grapple and jump to grab the platform. As it swings to the far end there is an overhead Grapple point so quickly run forward and jump up, and use the Grapple again so that Lara's dangling from the corner of the building. Don't look down if you don't have a head for heights! Turn Lara to the right and swing to the first ledge on this side of the building and get ready for another platform jump or two, using a similar technique to the first one. From the second platform use the Grapple on the overhead point, then turn Lara right again and swing to the rooftop courtyard. Through this series of moves around the buildings there are several Checkpoints so if Lara has a slight accident you won't have to go far back.
Once on the courtyard you can see some guards and dogs, and if you're careful they won't notice Lara straight away. One thing you can do is target the lights around the courtyard as they explode with a few pistol shots, but be careful to keep distance from them when they do. This may take out some enemies, leaving less for Lara to deal with. Once they're down go to the doorway in the corner and head through. First go down the stairs on the right and smash the crate down there for the fourth Bronze Reward. Then head up the stairs several flights to the dark top section and look for the gap in the railing. Walk out onto the pipes and use the ledge on the left wall to shimmy along as far as you can go, then backjump to the pipework. Walk carefully around the pipes and smash another crate for the second Silver Reward. Jump back to the narrow ledge, drop down to the lower ledge, and from there to the floor.
Now head to the door at the end of the passage and go through. Stay quiet here, crouch down, and use the cube farm for cover while you check out the room and locate the Yakuza in here. Try using a Grenade or two on manual aim to soften them up, then finish them off while staying behind cover as much as possible. Do a tour of the room, and collect any medipacks, ammo, and grenades you can find. Then go to the back left corner (as seen from the entrance door) and look for a crate. Use manual targetting to smash it to find the fifth Bronze Reward. Next go to the raised floor area to the right as you came in and check the cupboards on the back wall for the third Silver Reward.
Now to get out of here. From the raised floor area use the Binoculars on RAD mode to check the room out. You'll see that the large monitor on the far wall is moveable, so head that way and use the Grapple to pull it out as far as it can go. It can't be pulled further, so something must be holding it. Use the Pistols on manual targetting to shoot out the two clips holding it at the top corners, and it falls over the cubicles to expose two more Yakuza. Climb on the nearest desk and stand on a monitor to shoot them from a safer distance, then climb through to the passage behind, open the exit door, and head outside.
When Lara goes through the door a flyby shows the route she has to take next. Yes, all the way up there! First climb the pole by the wall and jump to grab the frame of the air conditioner on the corner. Shimmy around and climb up onto the platform. Look left to see a Grapple point up behind the first display panel, so use the Grapple to pull the display around and give Lara a platform to jump to. Cross to the other side, jump to the next platform and climb the ladder. Do the Grapple thing with the next sign and jump to the bar, then swing to the platform. Go across to the far side and climb the pole you find. At the top jump to the nearby platform and then to the next pole and climb to the top, then jump to the horizontal bar on the next sign, holding on while the third sign swings around. Once it stops moving jump back to the pole, climb further, and jump to the platform behind the third sign. Go across this platform, and before it swivels and dumps Lara, jump quickly to the safety of the next platform. Climb the next pole quickly as it starts to break away under Lara's weight, then at the top jump back to the dark horizontal bar. This also starts breaking away so you have to quickly swing across the series of bars to reach the safety of the balcony at the other side. Go though the door to the next Checkpoint and save your game. Phew!!!
But it's just about to get busy. Down the stairs ahead of Lara are some more Yakuza, as well as more around to her right. The large chandelier down the stairs is shootable and could catch a Yakuza or two by surprise. These guys can also be shaken and stirred with a well aimed grenade, but it's not a good idea to actually go down into that room just yet. Instead, after giving them something to think about, go to the right and follow the passage to get a couple of Yakuza on the balcony, then despatch the rest at your leisure (the ones on the balcony are tricky to shoot from down below). Before leaving the balcony use the trusty Pistols on the crate for the sixth Bronze Reward, then head down to the main room. Look for the small room to the left at the bottom of the stairs and open the cupboards to find the fourth Silver Reward, then go to the glass doors and through to the next part. Don't go near the passage down to the right yet, rather go into the room on the left.
There are a couple of things Lara can do in here. Firstly go to the far end of the room and press the fire switch. This triggers the sprinklers in the passage outside and lights up the laser detectors, which are linked to the machine gun on the end wall. The gun fires when the lasers are tripped which makes it rather difficult to get down there unscathed, although it should be possible with some well timed rolls. The other switch activates three security cameras to show you other rooms in the building. Now to get through the passage. There is a large ball on a stand outside, and Lara can pull this onto the floor. Stay behind it and roll it down the passage so it shields Lara from the gunfire, and push it well past the last set of lasers. Wait for a few moments and the gun will stop firing now that the lasers aren't being triggered, so Lara can let go and continue on. Go to the left, around the corner, to the door in the left wall in the passage. Enter the room with the dragon hanging from the ceiling, to hear a conversation with Takamoto. Then get the gunmen who come after Lara - this room is a bit tricky and a grenade wouldn't go amiss if you feel like throwing one.
Once the room is quiet again, go to the rear of the dragon and use the Grapple to pull it back. Release it and it smashes through the window for you, then quickly get another two Yakuza waiting in the passage above. Lara can now climb onto the small cupboard and vault up into the passage. Go to the right into the small room with the guns, which may come in handy for the next sequence if you don't have an Assault Rifle with you. But in the meantime grab hold of the red chest and drag it out of the room and down the passage to where Lara pulled up. Push it over the edge so it smashes on the floor below, then drop down and grab the Gold Reward. Climb back up and compose yourself as the most difficult fight so far is about to happen! This requires a good selection of weapon, and the Shotgun could be the most useful (although I did it with the Assault Rifle and Pistols, and Lara just managed to survive. Just..) When you decide on a weapon make sure you've stocked up with as much ammo and medipacks as you can find, then go to the elevator in the high passage and press the button. When it arrives go in for a cutscene showing Lara reaching Takamoto's hideout - I hope you've been making sure your health is always maxed out, 'cause you're going to need it!
Takamoto reads Lara his version of the Riot Act, and he doesn't seem to be at all willing to hand over his piece of the sword! Foolish man! This room is very dangerous on the ground floor due to automatic machine guns on the walls, so the first thing to do is climb one of the poles behind the statues, and backflip onto the catwalk above. If Lara gets knocked off the catwalk, get back up to it as fast as possible to avoid excessive injuries! You need to keep moving to avoid Takamoto's energy attacks from the sword fragment, and combine movement with jumps over the low level attacks, and rolls under the high ones, but try not to fall off the catwalk while you're doing it. Grenades are a waste of time here as he moves too fast and they're more likely to get Lara than Takamoto, and Lara's attacks work better if you try to get close to Takamoto, despite the damage he can do to Lara. You'll probably need to try this a few times, but once you get the hang of it it's not as bad as it first looks. Keep an eye on Lara's health, and also on Takamoto's health which is displayed at the top right of the screen.
Eventually Takamoto goes down and Lara claims her prize. Nishimura arrives in a chopper to rescue Lara, and the guys tell her that her next port of call is West Africa.

Objective - Find Rutland and 'persuade' him to hand the sword piece over to Lara.
Playing at Maximum 'Tomb Raider' Difficulty - Strange as it may seem, at maximum difficulty this level wasn't so bad until I reached the deep ravine near the end, where you have to fight a bunch of gunmen to allow Lara to enter the final rooms. This was a very challenging battle, especially as once the bridges are down you have to take out several gunmen at long range, and they don't go down that easily! It may be better in this case to not kick any barrels over the edge of the waterfall, which would then allow you to use the bridges to get up close and personal with the gunmen across the ravine. But that still wouldn't be easy. Oddly, the final battle with Rutland was a piece of cake compared to the ravine outside, and I got him well before I'd destroyed all his 'recharging points', at the loss of only a little health. But then in that battle circling Rutland with sidejumps is a very effective defence, and keeping close can be very bad for his health at little risk to Lara's, especially if you can destroy a recharge point or two while he's actually standing on them..
Level - Lara starts Ghana by arriving on her trusty steed, parking it, and sliding down into the jungle. Looks like Lara has a sponsorship contract with Ducati, this is the third ;-) Lara finds out from the guys that she's not the first of her family to be here..
Lara's facing a jungle track, so it looks like there's only one thing to do! Head down the track and check out the spectacular waterfalls, then check out the island directly below. There's a mechanism on the island Lara needs to operate, but first things first. Walk back a little, then turn and run at the edge to do a swan dive into the water below. While you're in the water dive down and find the first and second Bronze Rewards which are deep down to the left and right side of the large pool. Watch Lara's air supply here as the strong currents slow her down, and use the fast swim to reach them. This is also a good place to check out Lara's crawl on the surface (swimming stroke, that is..) Both these fast swimming actions are activated by tapping Action in time with her swimming.
Climb out on the island and check out the mechanism. You'll notice that there's a shimmering spot on the top of the vertical slab, and that it's pivoted at the base. But using the Grapple won't do anything yet, and that's because it needs to be unlocked. To do that, climb the ledges and jump to the rope - Lara's weight causes the locking mechanism to disengage. This is only temporary though and if Lara drops off the rope the lock moves back into place, but not immediately.
There are at least two ways to drop the slab. While Lara's hanging from the rope you can swing towards the slab and jump at the top edge. This will cause the slab to pivot and drop, also diverting the waterfall and exposing a set of ruins with an entrance at the base of the cliff. Another way is to drop from the rope when the mechanism is unlocked, then quickly use the Grapple to pivot the slab before the locks re-engage. I personally prefer jumping to it, and there may be other ways to do it as well if you want to experiment. Before heading down the newly opened passage, swim down under the bridge and look for the deep underwater cave at the base of the island. Inside the cave you'll find the first Silver Reward. Swim back up to the island, go across the bridge, and go down the passage to the pool of water - the current in it is too strong for Lara to swim across, and the ropes are too far away to jump to, but of course there's a simple way to do it.
Use the Grapple to pull the raft at the far end right up to this end, then use the raft to jump to the rope. Swing to the next rope, then to the far end, and continue on. Watch out for a gunman in the passage, and be careful as he may throw a grenade. Continue on and jump over the trap which won't hurt Lara as it ain't working, then continue to the next set of traps and a pressure plate. Standing on the pressure plate opens the door at the far end, and Lara has to get through before it closes. Do this with a jump over the first trap, dodge between the next, and roll under the last, then quickly roll under the door before it closes and stay crouched by holding the Roll button down. Crouch-Walk directly forward so Lara's behind the pile of crates where she can stand up and you can take a good look around without being seen.
In this room there are a large number of gunmen, one of whom is manning a large machine gun which can be very damaging. Try to keep under cover, and start by targetting an explosive object under the rock ledge near the machine gun. When this explodes it smashes part of the ledge, and then Lara will need to dodge around to get the rest of the gunmen. It's a little tricky, but it's a good idea to try to get the machine gunner as soon as possible if he's still active as he can do a lot of damage. Grenades should come in handy for the guys below. This can be done with the Pistols only if you want the hard way, or even better, try to get to the machine gun quickly and use that!
Once the room is quiet grab the third Bronze Reward in the corner on the top ledge near the machine gun then check the room out. At each side there is a circular mechanism, one not working and the other apparently jammed by a fallen pillar - these are both waterwheels and they need to be activated before Lara can proceed. The first one is easy - go to the machine gun and shoot at the carved pillar on the left of the wheel with the water flowing over it. Or use the rope to swing to it so Lara knocks it over. This pillar falls and unjams the wheel, which starts turning. Go to the pedestal the pillar was on (or use the rope) and jump to one of the bars on the waterwheel as it goes past Lara. When this bar has swung to the other side, but before it goes too high, jump to the nearby rope. From there Lara can reach the high ledge in the corner.
Use the Grapple to pull the hanging platform down next to the ledge Lara's on, climb on it, and use the Grapple on the small pillar on the ledge at the other side of the room to pull the platform to the far end. The doorway on the left leads to a trap passage Lara needs to use, but the traps are jammed and stop Lara from passing. To get them working requires water to be diverted to the second waterwheel, and for that we need to do some climbing. From the ledge jump to the rope, then to the top bar on the second waterwheel. Swing to the top bar on the other side, then to the ladder on the wall ahead. Climb to the top of the ladder, go to the next ladder, and climb to the top. Side jump to the ledge on the left, vault to the higher ledge, and go around the corner to the left. When Lara is below the next ladder vault up to it and climb to the top.
Go forward, but before dropping down into the next room shoot the Leopard (no, it's not a Jaguar, this is Africa..), then drop down, go to the right and climb the broken staircase. Go around to the right to the other side and grab the fourth Bronze Reward, then climb onto the rock ledge. Jump to the hanging block, which slowly lowers, go forward and jump to the next block when it is at least the same level as the first block, then run and jump to the ladder at the other end and climb to the top. Go to the far end of this ledge for a flyby which shows Lara's route. At the other end of the ledge jump to the crack in the wall, shimmy around the corner and drop down to the crack below. Jump to the crack to the left, then drop down the cracks to the floor below.
Lara is now down at water level, and before playing with the raft there's a side trip to do. Jump in the water, swim through the gap in the wall on the left, and head across to the rear left corner of the next pool. Climb out, go up to the right, and grab the second Silver Reward. Drop back into the water, swim back to the raft and climb on board. Use the Grapple to pull the raft out next to the gap in the wall, then when it floats through to the other side use the Grapple again to pull it close to the ledge on the other side and jump to the ledge. If you fall off, the raft should float to the end of this pool so you can climb on it and either use the Grapple or jump to the ledge again.
Above Lara are a couple more large suspended blocks which work the same way as the two previous blocks, but travel further. To reach the first one go to the ladder to the left and climb up far enough so Lara can backflip to the first block. Go to the far end of the block and when the second block is high enough jump to it, then run to the far end and jump to the ledge. Go to the other side of the ledge and grab the fifth Bronze Reward, then do a Grapple jump to the next ledge.
Jump to the crack in the wall ahead, shimmy around the corner, then drop to the crack below. Shimmy around the next corner and vault to the crack above. Jump backwards and grab the next crack on the side wall, drop to the crack below, then go to the right and jump the gap to the next crack. Vault to the crack above, then go right and jump to the platform.
Now check out the next puzzle which consists of two pressure pads - one on either side of the room - a central mechanism, and two intermediate ledges. Firstly step on the pressure pad on the first platform to dislodge the large block by swivelling the first intermediate ledge, then jump across to the centre mechanism once the ledge has returned to its starting position. This has a Grapple point in the centre which can be pulled outwards, and there are two hinged clips above on either side that lock the two arms in position. If you test the pressure pads you'll notice that each clip swings out by stepping on a pressure pad, then slowly returns to the locked position as the intermediate ledges swivel back, but you can't do both at the same time. Jump to the platform on the other side, and pull the block onto the second pressure pad. That's one you don't have to bother with any more!
Return to the far side. Stand on the pressure pad for several seconds until the swivelling ledge stops moving and the clip is fully open. Then time a quick jump to the swivelling ledge (even if it's at a steep angle, just keep Lara moving forward so she doesn't slide down) and do a running jump off the far side to the centre platform. Quickly get the Grapple on to the centre mechanism and pull it out (Lara needs to be standing in front of it to pull it out properly), and if you are fast enough the two arms will swing down either side of Lara and release the water in the holding tank below to flow down to the second waterwheel. If you fall off the swivelling ledge you can use the large block dislodged earlier to reach a crack in the side wall, from where Lara can vault up and get back to the pressure pad ledge without having to retrace her steps all around the room - nice touch!
Now to retrace your steps back down to the waterwheel room. Go to the outside edge of this platform and jump down into the tank which is now full of water (it's where you came across the pussy cat before). Swim to the passage below the platform you were just on, go through it, and climb down the ladder. At the bottom drop to grab the ledge, shimmy right around the corner, drop to the ledge below, go right and jump to the ladder. Climb down to the floor, and go across to the next ladder where the water is falling. Climb down to the floor of the waterwheel room, and use the bars on the second waterwheel to jump to the rope, and from there to the ledge leading to the passage with the traps, which are now working.
This passage has a series of more or less classic TR traps, so what are you waiting for? Firstly time a quick run between each set of spears as they retract - it helps to move the camera above Lara so you can judge distances better. Once past the spears, the next trap is two sets, high and low, of whirling blades running up and down the passage in slots on either side, hence four separate blades. Now these things look very nasty! It's probably possible to jump over and roll under these, but there's a better way. Grab the block on the left and push it down the centre of the passage to interrupt the blades. They won't necessarily all be stopped, but some should be, clearing the way for Lara to proceed. Climb over the block and head down the safe part of the passage, but be sure to stay away from the blades even when they're jammed as they can cause Lara a lot of damage. Go up the stairs to the next set of blades - there's another block embedded in the wall on the right you can use to jam them. Once past, continue on, then go down the next stairs.
As Lara approaches the next traps a rumbling starts, and guess what, it's a rolling ball that fills the passage! Oh how I miss them ;-) The moment you get control of Lara again, start running and jump over the right side of the first trap, then veer left and roll under the left side of the second set. Continue running down the passage and jump the pit. If Lara is still alive a cutscene takes over where she runs out of the passage to the right and the ball falls down into the water, smashing into some rocks as it goes.
When you get Lara back, if you look around you may realise that this deep valley is actually where you started the level. If you like you can dive down for a swim, and Lara can get back up using a series of ledges along the cliff to the left. When the boulder fell it broke off some rocks, and now they're broken you can get up here - before you couldn't.
Nearby is a horizontal bar, but before jumping to it there's a short side trip again. Turn around and go to the ladder on the other side of the ledge, and climb down to the bottom for the third Silver Reward. Climb back up and go back to the other side and get ready for an interesting series of manoeuvres. Jump to the bar, then to the ledge on the rock ahead. Go around the corner to the left and vault up to the ledge above. Shimmy to the left again, around the corner, and jump back to grab the next ledge. As you do this you'll notice some dirt falling from directly above, and this signals trouble. Vault to the next ledge above, which dislodges a rock above Lara, so quickly jump backwards to grab the bar behind Lara and avoid the rock.Swing to the next bar, then to the ledge. There's a checkpoint on this ledge so when you reach it save here if you want a break.
Jump to the suspended cage and wait as it lowers, then jump to the wide ledge ahead. Go across to the other side and jump to the other suspended cage, and from there to the next wide ledge. Jump to the horizontal bar nearby, then to the splintered masonry outcrop and shimmy to the left around the corner. Vault up to the ledge above, then quickly side jump right to the next bar to avoid another falling rock. Swing to the next bar along, turn around, and swing to the high bar, then to the ledge, quickly shimmying to the left around the corner before yet another rock falls and hits Lara. Vault up to the next ledge, shimmy around the corner to the left, and back jump to the platform. Head through the doorway to another Checkpoint.
Down this passage you need to watch out for some wide spike pits, and then you'll start encountering Rutland's gunmen. When you reach the staircase turn on Lara's PLS, and at the first spike pit use the Grapple to get across - be careful if you lower Lara down the rope here before swinging as she can damage herself on the spikes in the pit if you drop her too far. Even with the PLS it's very dark and hard to see the far side, but two good swings should be enough. The second spike pit is soon after, but the light is better so it's easy to cross. Go carefully around the corner as there are some of Rutland's gunmen guarding the passage. You could pick them off one by one from the corner, but it's quicker to run towards the bridge they're standing on and throw a grenade onto the bridge, then retreat. The grenade will probably blow the bridge up (not always though) - the guards on it won't bother you any more even if it doesn't - or you could also use the alternative targetting to shoot a section of rock in the ceiling above the bridge, which will take everything with it when it falls. There will be one or two more gunmen to deal with from a distance (one more comes to investigate, so wait for him) but using manual mode with the Pistols while standing behind the box for a little cover should be enough. Use the Grapple to swing across if the bridge is no longer there, and be sure to replenish your supplies with anything lying around on the other side before continuing down the passage to the waterfall area as a big fight is coming up.
Now for a very sneaky goodie - at a close examination this does certainly look a little suspicious, but it's not obvious. If you look to the right wall of the gorge, you can see a ledge with a carved stone panel at the back. If you use the Binoculars in RAD mode they don't register anything, but zoom right in and look carefully. Yes, it's possible to see cracks in the stone panel! Now look to the right side of that ledge and there's a crack in the rock which is roughly level with the crack opposite the two bars on the right. Yes, it certainly looks suspicious!
On the right is a horizontal bar so jump to it, then to the next, and from there to the crack in the wall ahead. Now move to the left, and do a side jump to the crack by the stone panel. Drop to the ledge and have a look at the panel. Try kicking it, nothing. Nor does anything happen when you shoot it. There are only two ways to do this, and the second requires some backtracking so probably isn't worth doing unless you don't have any grenades. Stand Lara close to the outer edge of the ledge facing the carved panel, throw a grenade at it, and immediately make Lara fall off the ledge and dangle while the explosion goes off. Pull back up and go into the cave for the fourth Silver Reward, then go back to the crack and side jump back to the first one.
Vault up to the crack above, and shimmy around the corner to the left. Vault up two more cracks, shimmy around the corner to the right, vault up to another crack, then jump backwards to the bar. Swing to the next bar, then to the flat ground ahead, and crouch down. Keep away from the river as it will sweep Lara over the falls! Out over the waterfall are a bunch of gunmen who're going to make life difficult for a few minutes. One of them even has a Grenade Launcher so it's good idea to stay clear of him - he is the one dressed differently to all the others! There are two ways to handle this area. You could cross the metal bridge nearby and head down the path on the other side to take them on one by one, close up and personal, but the risk is that they will come across to get Lara and may overwhelm her. And you need to keep your health up for the boss battle to come shortly.. Or you could do it the easy way, in which case read on.
First, kick one of the nearby barrels into the river so it goes over the waterfall and explodes - this not only gets rid of the bridges and some bad guys, it also smashes that carved panel just below if you'd run out of grenades. Go carefully across the metal bridge up here and stay away from the rock wall on the other side as there's a gunman down to the right hidden at the moment. Get rid of the barrels on this side if you like, then drop down into the lower section near the side wall and blow away the gunman there. It's possible to pull a barrel away from the river with the Grapple, then go around and kick it into the lower section by the wall. Another kick can get it rolling towards that first bad guy and Lara can blow it up with the Pistols on manual targetting. Bit fussy though, so probably not worth bothering with, especially as if the bad guy shoots it Lara gets blown up if she's too close!
This is a good place to stay under cover as by now the bridges are gone so the bad guys won't be coming across! First get the guy you can see on the ledge against the back wall of this ravine, then sneak out and take potshots in manual targetting mode at the rest one at a time. This will take some time, so you could use the Assault Rifle if you have it, but even so it will probably mean running a little way down this side ledge to get them into range. As long as Lara keeps moving it shouldn't be too damaging though. Having got rid of some by blowing the bridges, there aren't too many left now, so it's not all that difficult as long as no grenades reach you.
You can reach the far side with the ropes dangling around, so check all around the area and grab any supplies you can find, particularly medipacks as Lara could be a bit short of health by now and you'll need as much as possible. There should be a Grenade Launcher on the far side but there doesn't seem to be very much ammo for it so it's probably best left alone. And don't forget to go back to that ledge above for the goodie if you didn't get it on the way down! When you're ready, carefully head into the passage on the ledge all the bad guys were on and get the Leopard that is in the next room, backing out of the passage if it gets too close - you don't want Lara coming to any more harm here as there aren't any more medipacks! Take note of the large carved doors directly ahead at ground level between the stairs - there's something behind there, but what? Also note the position of the rope as it's needed shortly when there won't be time to look around.
Climb up onto the left stairs and quickly jump to the rope as a couple of large balls come a-rollin' down. Swing to the opposite stairs and beware of another ball, then go to the top. The door is closed and there's a pressure pad on the floor. Step on the pressure pad to see the door open, albeit slowly so Lara needs to stand there for a few seconds. But this pressure pad also opens the door underneath where Lara's now standing so head down the stairs for the Gold Reward before that door closes. Make your way back up, open the door fully again, then run forward and roll under it before it closes to reach the final room and a Checkpoint.
You're now locked in a room with Rutland, who has the piece of the sword that Lara wants. He also has a good supply of grenades and he's not afraid to use them! He will spend most of his time down on the floor attacking Lara with either the sword or grenades, so to reduce the damage to Lara you need to keep moving, and don't let him get too close, although not too far either. I found that circling around him where possible, and also using side jumps (rather than rolls as they interrupt Lara's shooting too much), while blazing away constantly with the Pistols, was quite effective. By circling you avoid the grenades he throws, and as they are the most damaging this helps Lara a lot! If you get too close to him, especially if you manage to get Lara trapped between him and a wall, he can do some serious damage with the sword fragment with a series of effective attacks. I didn't find the Assault Rifle or Grenades to be much help here so you'll probably do just as well to stick with the Pistols.
Periodically Rutland jumps to a high ledge to fix his health on one of the four structures up there, but you'll probably notice that there is a targetting point on each of these. While he's recharging you can shoot these out one by one, which exposes a Grapple point on each. Once these are exposed, if Lara Grapples and pulls them she can destroy them and rob Rutland of his security blankets, thus making him vulnerable. This fight is a bit tricky and will probably require some practice before you get him, but as long as Lara keeps moving and doesn't get too close it's not so difficult. Keep your eye on Rutland's health gauge on the top right of the screen to see how much damage you're doing.
When the fight ends and Rutland goes down, Lara takes the sword fragment. She hears from the guys back home that her next destination is Kazakhstan, so that's where we're off to next!

Objective - Lara is now after the next piece of the sword. She is starting to have suspicions that Amanda did in fact survive, and is not up to a lot of good.
Playing at Maximum 'Tomb Raider' Difficulty - In the first battle after Lara base-jumps down to the facility, instead of using the machine gun on the roof where Lara is vulnerable, try dropping off the back of the roof and going along to the end of the back wall farthest from the rail tracks and take the gunmen on with Pistols only from that end of the large compound. This can work well, at little loss of health, as long as you make sure to target all the explosive objects as soon as possible to reduce the number of gunmen. And there may be less gunmen to deal with that way. In the second compound in Pt.1 try sliding down the boards to the nearby rooftop rather than using the zipline as Lara is less exposed on the roof. From here you can still target some explosive objects to make it easier. In the same compound, after Lara talks to the Kazakhs in the medical room, don't go for the machine gun as it is too exposed - instead use the Pistols and move to the right as soon as you exit the room to get some distance from the bad guys. Try to get the guy with the grenade launcher as soon as possible as he can do a lot of damage. On the way to the train, stay on top of the tower after the first zipline and take potshots at the gunmen below until the guys tell you the train is about to leave, then get down the second zipline and run to the doors across the train tracks so they open when you get there (get there too soon and you have to wait for them to open, and take some damage while doing so). In the final part of Kazakhstan after the train wreck, there is no special difficulty as there are extra medipacks to be found beside the dead scientists. Just be sure that after you've used the Mag Gun and crossed to the far walkway, that you enter the passage with as good health as possible - one of the last group of gunmen could drop a medipack and that's your last chance to grab one in this level! This is important as the final battle with the Unknown Entity can be damaging, although it doesn't seem any harder on maximum difficulty (but that could just be me getting better at it..)
Level - As this is another level with separate sublevels, I'll split it up. The action starts with Lara arriving at the base in Kazakhstan, then she needs to travel overland to an abandoned facility in pursuit of the next sword fragment..
Project Carbonek Pt 1 - Lara Drops In
Lara starts the level standing high on a hill overlooking the plant in Kazakhstan. Snow is falling, and it looks rather cold! She talks with the guys about parachuting down, which is a hint as to what to do next.. If you like shooters, then you're going to love what's coming up!
For best effect, the next bit should be done with the swan dive, so back away from the edge a bit, then turn, run to the edge, and dive off. Lara free falls, then she's prompted to deploy the parachute by hitting Action so be ready for it as you don't have much time to react. Now that's what's known as a base jump! She lands on the roof of a small building and there are a whole heap of bad guys wandering around, and would you believe, a machine gun close by! Grab the machine gun and start firing. There are plenty of bad guys, explosive barrels, and crates to demolish, so fire away to your heart's content. Be wary of gunmen firing through the windows of the building ahead, and as Lara is quite exposed up here watch her health, and look out for gunmen trying to get close. When they're all down drop down from the roof and some more gunmen may appear - it's probably easiest to get these with the Assault Rifle rather than climbing back up for the machine gun. It's also possible that the extra gunmen only appear if Lara drops off the edge of the roof facing the large building, so try dropping off the back edge of the roof and moving along the fence across the rail tracks to get to the building. If you try this don't go near the front of the building Lara just came from.
Once they're all down, it's time to do a little goodie gathering. Climb back onto the roof with the machine gun, and go to the higher section. Do a running jump to grab the horizontal bar on the flagpole nearby, and swing to the crates beside the next building. From there climb up and get the first Bronze Reward in the crate on the roof, then drop to the ground and go into the big building, which happens to be the armoury. Gather anything you can carry, and check out the back room for the second Bronze Reward. Make sure you grab any medipacks lying around this area, then climb the ladder in the armoury onto the roof. Get the guard on the next roof then jump across. There are a heap more bad guys in the compound below and it's probably best to go down as the range is a little too far. Use the zipline to get to the ground as it lands you in a corner that has a bit of cover, except from the machine gun.. Or slide down the plank onto the next roof on the left.
There's a machine gun not far away and it's a good idea to target that first, not forgetting any explosive items nearby which can help a lot. Then go for the rest of the bad guys - Lara's health could be a bit iffy by now so if you see any medipacks be sure to grab them while you're shooting. Once they all go down check carefully for ammo and medipacks, unless you managed to get all you needed while running around. When the area's completely clear there's a goodie to get before moving on. Go to the enclosure in this part of the compound closest to the railway line outside (beside the gate back to the first area). Around one side there's a stack of small crates, so use the Pistols on manual targetting to shoot them all. Go through the hole in the fence they were covering and shoot the crate for the first Silver Reward. Careful with the barrel as it explodes if it's hit and if Lara's too close it would ruin her day! The barrel can be shot when Lara's not close to it, and when it explodes it opens another hole in the fence.
Now go to the building with the lighted doorway near the machine gun and open the door. A cutscene takes over where Lara saves a couple of Kazakh guards from the gunman. They chat in Russian, which unbeknownst to the Kazakhs Lara can understand, then they give her the code to open the next gate (you don't need to remember this). Before leaving you can grab the ammo the gunman left behind, then head out the door. The gate you want is straight ahead, but there are another batch of bad guys to dispose of first - these are pretty mean and can be a bit of a handful, so keep firing away and be sure to avoid the grenades they throw! The machine gun could be handy for this fight ;-) Then go to the gate and hit Action at the panel on the left.
The gate opens, and yet more gunmen start pushing burning barrels down at the gate which explode around the gateway making it a bit dodgy getting through. As soon as Lara opens the gate you can back off to the left and watch the fireworks for a while, but the guy in there seems to have an unlimited supply so you need to face it sooner or later. Best to watch the barrels and make a calculated dash through the gate and onto the snow on the left, then get the two gunmen at the top of the slope. Once they're down go up and open the door, and head in. Go to the console directly down the room for a short cutscene, then climb the ladder to the roof.
Jump to the tower and climb to the top. Grab the cable and slide down, then grab the next cable and continue on. There are a bunch of gunmen down here near the rail tracks, including a guy with a Grenade Launcher - as Lara is in a hurry (this is timed, but it's not that tight) it's best to ignore them, and do a dash down to the gates while weaving a bit to avoid too much damage. At some point the rail gates open, and once they have run up to the bike just inside the gates, jump on, and head down the rail track to end this part.
Project Carbonek Pt 2 - Cross Country
As soon as you get control of Lara, gun the bike and follow the train. As in Peru there will be plenty of obstacles, but this time you get trees as well, just to add to the fun. And apart from the bad bikers, later in the ride there are plenty of cars as well, each with a gunman. As before you need to keep the speed up while dodging obstacles and shooting bad guys, grabbing as many medipacks as possible on the way. A little way into the ride the train goes into a tunnel and the bad guys leave you alone so you can concentrate on the road ahead. There are several places where Lara can veer left or right - if you want more fun go right. When the train comes back into view a flood of bad guys come with it, many in cars, then after a while it goes through another tunnel.
Keep it up until you reach a couple of places where Lara jumps over the train, then the road narrows and on the left you see the train again, this time below Lara with flatcars next to her. Lara needs to jump the bike to the train here, but there is only a very short gap in which to do it or she's blocked off by a bridge. Once on the train ride forward as far as you can, when a cutscene takes over. Lara leaves the bike and heads to the front of the train on the roof. Just as a gunman starts shooting at Lara from the train cab, the train hits a gas cylinder on the track and the level ends, along with the odd bad guy and Lara's jacket which she has to remove as it's on fire.
Project Carbonek Pt 3 - Here be Monsters
This level starts with an interactive cutscene, where Lara, still on the roof of the train, has to Duck under girders, Shoot an overhead object, and use the Grapple to get off the train before it's demolished. Be sure to hit the correct control at the right time so Lara survives.
Lara is standing on a small platform near the wrecked train. There's nothing to look for on this side of the train, so the first thing is to use the Grapple to pull the high arm holding the rope as close to Lara as possible, then release the Grapple and immediately jump to the rope. When it swings back down the room, swing to the platform ahead. Climb the ladder to the top, then side jump to grab the top edge of the sign. Shimmy to the left side of the sign then jump to the first bar. Swing to the second bar, then jump to grab the top of the sign on the other side. Let Lara drop to the platform below, then drop down to the floor and find the crate in the dark corner. Shoot this for the third Bronze Reward, then climb back onto the platform.
Use the Grapple on the second rope fixture as on the other side, and swing over the fire to the platform. From there you can see an icon on the fan above, which tells you to target it with the Pistols to open the way to the duct. Do a running jump to the lower narrow ledge, and vault up into the ducting. Go on to the steep slope and slide down, then jump over the first electric cables sparking across the duct, and duck or roll under the next set of cables. Head to the barred gate, and pick up the piece of paper to learn about the fate of the scientist on the other side.
Go down the duct to the left and jump to the bar. Swing to the rope, and from there to the other end of the pit. Slide down the next section and jump the sparking cables in mid-slide. At the bottom go right and shoot out the fan from a distance, then roll under the cables. The ducting goes left for another slide with another set of cables to jump, and be sure to shoot the next fan before Lara reaches the bottom. Negotiate the cables in this section of duct, then follow the duct to the right. Slide down the next slope and jump the cables. At the bottom there is another bar to jump to, but ignore it for now and let Lara fall into the pit. Beside her is a small crate containing the fourth Bronze Reward. Go to the far end, climb the large crate, then turn around and use the Grapple to swing to the bar you ignored before. When Lara grabs the bar she will probably turn around, but if not make sure she's facing the Grapple point on the ceiling. Swing and jump, and as soon as Lara releases the bar use the Grapple. Slide Lara down to the bottom of the rope and get up a big swing to reach the ducting at the far end. Alternatively when first using the Grapple, turn Lara around and swing directly to the ducting at the far end - quicker, but less fun. Shoot the next fan out, then slide down into the generator room.
This room is very dark and looks a little complicated, but it's not too bad if you use the PLS. First thing is to turn the generator on so you can see, and to power up the exit door. On the side of the generator facing Lara there is a Grapple point, and if you use the Grapple on it and pull, the generator tries to start but won't. It probably only needs a fuel supply, and that's easy. Go to the large box near where Lara fell down into the room and climb up on it. There's a ventilator box on the wall nearby which Lara can jump to and grab. Shimmy right, then side jump to the catwalk. Go to the far end of the catwalk and jump to the next catwalk where the red light is. Go to the right just past the generator shield, and jump to the rope. This pulls down the pipe and supplies fuel to the generator. Go around to the front of the genny and use the Grapple to pull the starter, and this time it starts up. The room lighting may not be too flash, but it's better than it was!
Now for a small diversion before leaving. Along the wall to the right of the illuminated site plan there's a couple of ventilators on the wall. Jump and grab the first one, and vault to the top. Shimmy to the left and pull up onto the catwalk through the broken railing. Go to the left and move against the wall on Lara's right, then use the Grapple to pull the cage door ahead open as far as possible. Jump the gap into the cage, shoot the box, and grab the second Silver Reward. Drop down to the floor and head through the exit door into a noxious looking passage.
The gas in here is very damaging to Lara, so if at any time she falls into it get out fast! A little ahead and above Lara is a platform, so jump up and climb onto it. Jump to the overhead bar, and swing to the next platform. Jump to the next bar, swing to the rope, and from there to the platform ahead. Turn right, jump to the next platform, then climb up to the next one above Lara. Look at the sparking pipework on the wall on the right, and when a spark moves past Lara jump up and grab it, and shimmy left to the far end, staying away from the sparks. At the end jump backwards across the passage and grab the narrow ledge, then shimmy to the right, around the corner, and drop to the lower ledge. From there jump backwards to the platform below and behind - there is a gap directly below Lara. Or shimmy as far right as you can get on the lower ledge and drop off, and with luck Lara will grab the edge of the platform below. Move to the other end and again watch out for a spark travelling along the pipe down the centre of the passage. This one is a little faster but takes time to cycle around the pipe, so as soon as it goes past jump up, grab the pipe, and swing to the far end. Drop down onto the last platform, and then to the floor ahead, and go through the door.
There's a cutscene here between Lara and Amanda - so she did survive! Amanda gives orders to her gunmen not to let Lara continue, whereupon they blow up the catwalk with a grenade. The camera shows a big gun - the Mag Gun - then you get Lara back. Go and have a look at the Mag Gun - Lara can climb onto it and try to shoot, but it only sparks a bit. Get back off then go to the broken walkway and try to get at least a couple of the gunmen below with manual targetting and the Pistols. If you come across gunmen carrying shields in this level, they're easier to deal with by using either the slide attack or the jump attack so you can get around the shields, but that means getting up close and personal of course.. Slide down the walkway and finish off the gunmen, then go to the far end of the room, to the right of the tower, and grab the fifth Bronze Reward hidden around the corner behind the tower. Go back out and check out the area - there's nothing else down here, so Lara has to get to the higher level. The only thing she can use is the sparking pole with a ball on the top, and from there Lara has to backflip to the ledge by the tower. To make this easier, first approach the pole with Lara's back to the ledge, then as soon as the spark is high enough climb the pole to the top, but don't climb into the spark! Backflip to the ledge behind then climb to the higher ledge.
From there jump to the horizontal bar, swing to the next, then to the rope. Turn left and swing to the nearest pole, which is a safe one. Climb to the top and turn Lara so her back is facing the next pole, which is sparking - a good way to get the direction right is to use the camera centreing control to make sure the next pole is directly behind her. When the spark is high enough, backflip to the pole, climb to the top, and quickly turn Lara's back to face the next pole. As soon as the spark is high enough on the next pole, and being careful not to let the spark on the pole Lara's holding get too close, backflip to the next one, climb and turn and backflip to the nearby floor. Go to the dead scientist on the floor nearby and pick up the paper to hear more about this place.
Before going on there is another goodie to get. Go to the large cage against the side wall near the two sparking poles and find the closed gate with the barrel behind it. Move back from it a bit so Lara doesn't get hurt, then use the Pistols on manual targetting to shoot the barrel through the small gap between the door frame and cage - you'll see the targetting mark turn red when Lara's aim is right. It will take a few shots, but when it explodes it blows the end of the cage off, allowing Lara in to grab the third Silver Reward. Go back out and head for the passage near the dead scientist. Go through the door at the end into the next passage with the tracks down the centre.
This passage is quite inert to begin with, so it's safe to head on through, at least until Lara reaches the gas. There's a platform on the left side at the gas, so climb up to it and jump to the bar ahead, then to the next platform. From there jump to the bar above the locked door, and swing through to the next room. There are quite a few gunmen here, and also some explosive barrels you can use to help dispose of them. When they're all down look for the broken ladder on the right side of the room, and the gadget sitting on the track nearby - this is a Tesla Battery. The track is mostly blocked for now, but you can still push the Tesla Battery along a short way so it's closer to the ladder. Jump from the top of it to the ladder, climb up, and jump to the platform on the right. Jump to the bar, then to the next platform. Note that most of the platforms in here are damaged and Lara can fall off easily. It probably won't hurt to fall off, but you'll have to retrace your steps.
To the right is a rope, and you can use this to swing to grab the ledge above the hanging gadget ahead. Shimmy to the left around two corners, then back jump to the bar and swing to the next platform. From there Lara can jump to the ladder, which extends to the floor under her weight. Climb to the top and jump to the platform to the right. Go to the far end and shoot the barrel in the control room to open Lara's way in, then use the rope to swing across to the control room. Go to the dead scientist in here and grab the note beside him for a little more information.
Go to the lever in the control panel overlooking the main room, and pull it. This powers the machine up, and shows what the Tesla Battery can do - it repels metal so can clear the track by itself. Go through the door to the left and use the broken ladder to climb partway down, then drop to the floor. Don't go close to the Tesla Battery as it's not very healthy, but Lara needs to move it along the track. Go along the track a bit then use the Grapple to pull it. It will travel under its own power for a short distance until the collisions stop it, so you'll need to give it a couple of pulls so it clears the track, being careful not to go too close to the tracks in case something hits Lara. Once the track's clear it moves on, opens the passage door, and continues down the passage to the tower room by itself. Now Lara needs to follow it, but there's no rush so take your time.
Use the platforms and the bar to cross the gas, then go to the corner. The passage is now energised and the balls are causing sparking across the passage - the sparking has to be stopped for Lara to continue. Use the Grapple on each of the first two balls and give it a big pull then release to start it swinging. As the ball swings the spark will be broken for long enough to allow Lara past each one. At the next corner check out the two pairs of balls. You'll obviously need to get both balls of each pair swinging together, so first pull one as far as possible to start it, then pull the other as far as possible and release it so it swings more or less together with the other. The best way to do this is to just move the camera so each ball is in line with Lara so she targets the correct one. Dash through the first pair between the sparking, do the same for the second pair, then head out to the next room.
The Tesla Battery has stopped short of the tower because the door is closed. Go to the left and pull the door open with the Grapple to let it move into the tower. This powers the Tesla Machine, so now you can use that Mag Gun! Go to the right hand end of the platform to the malfunctioning, sparking doors. Dash between them as they open to avoid injury, and when inside there will be another cutscene explaining the significance of the shield in here. Go to the scientist down the room, then dash through the next doors as they open and go to the Mag Gun. Now this is one cool weapon, it's a pity Lara can't take it with her!!! Mount the Mag Gun and check it out. Pressing the Weapons control causes it to attract metal objects, and pressing the Fire control causes it to repel them, or in other words, 'fire' them. Now it doesn't take a lot of experimenting to figure out just what you can do with this thing - aim it at a metal object such as the hanging platform (or one of the ventilation boxes on the wall directly opposite can be fun), and try the controls to see what the Mag Gun does.
There are several gunmen on the catwalk on the far side of the room and they'll be firing at Lara now, so the first thing to do is get them. Lara can't shoot them easily from this side, but what about using the Mag Gun? Yep, this is the way - on the floor near the Mag Gun are several explosive barrels, and these can be used to great effect on those gunmen. Turn the Mag Gun around and aim it at one of the barrels on the floor nearby, then press the Weapons control and hold it down (don't do this with the container on the short raised ledge on the side of this floor as it's needed later!) As long as you hold the control down the barrel will be attracted to the Mag Gun and move up close to it, but you need to lift it up a bit so it's not dislodged by hitting other objects as it could explode if it falls. When it's been attracted close to the Mag Gun keep holding the Weapons control down, turn the gun around, and aim it at one of the gunmen. Then press Fire which flings the barrel across the room, where it explodes on impact. Two or three good shots will take out the gunmen - now is that cool or what!!! You could also use the containers on the floor behind the gun, but be careful not to use the container on the raised section of floor nearby. Or you could use the Mag Gun to move the hanging platform along level with the broken walkway, cross to the other catwalk via the platform, and take out the gunmen the hard way. If so, you'll need to use one of the alternate attacks such as the slide or slow motion jump to get around their shields. But why bother when you can do it in safety, and you'll need all the health you have for the Boss battle in the next room anyway!
Now to get one of the toughest goodies to figure out I've seen in any TR so far, except maybe that leap of faith in TR2 Gold 'Vegas' soon after the start of the level. (I was suspicious about the place this one was hidden because I could see it with the Binoculars in RAD mode, but because it's a totally new puzzle it could have taken me quite a long time to figure out how to get there unless I'd first read that it could be done in The Complete Guide - thanks guys! This puzzle is a good demonstration of the Crystal Dynamics Quartz physics engine, which is quite impressive!)
Go to the Mag Gun and swivel it so it's facing a little to the right of the top of the fallen walkway and left of the raised section of floor nearby. Move it up until you see a row of four steel containers in a recess in the wall which it can pull out. Pull each one out and throw it out to Lara's right so it's out of the way. Now for the tricky bit. If you've examined the dark end of the main room farthest from the tower with the Binoculars in RAD mode, you may have noticed some high catwalks, and a barely visible alcove high up in the wall. The only way to get to that is to use the suspended platform and the way to use it is quite a surprise, unless you make the intuitive leap (which I didn't) because the secret to its use is hidden in darkness on the ceiling at the far end and is very hard to see.
It's very tricky to get right and there is probably more than one way to do it, but this is what worked for me. The way I did it is quite logical, isn't too hard, and just requires some practice to co-ordinate the use of the Mag Gun. Firstly, aim at the coupling attaching the platform to the overhead rail, just above where the four cables meet. Use the Weapons and Fire buttons as relevant and move the platform as far left as possible. Then hold Weapons down and pull the platform to the right as fast as possible, then when it swings across the front of the gun, switch to rapid taps of the Fire button aimed slightly left of the coupling so it pushes it to the right - you'll see a red aiming point when it's aimed close enough to the coupling. Keep up the rapid taps and keep moving the aim across slightly trailing the coupling. Keep this up and you'll see the platform roll up a slope in the rail, and with luck just make it onto a higher section of rail so it can be moved further down - don't give up too easily as the last little bit needs perseverance. Once it's on the higher section, push it as far down as you can, then dismount the Mag Gun and go to the raised platform nearby.
Push the container on the platform as far along as it will go, climb onto it, and jump to grab the ledge you exposed by removing those containers. If you've moved the container off the platform with the Mag Gun, you'll have to put another one up there! Vault up to the top ledge, and go left, around the corner, to the far end which is in darkness. Drop onto a small catwalk, jump to the suspended platform, then go across to the right and jump to the wide catwalk on the end wall in the dark. There's a Checkpoint here towards the left end of the wide catwalk, so make sure you cross it so you don't have to do all that again! Turn the PLS on and face the alcove on the opposite wall. There's a very hard to see bar Lara can jump to, and from there swing to the alcove for the Gold Reward.
Return to the suspended platform and do a running jump to the long catwalk on the right wall where the bad guys were earlier. Go through the door into another unwelcoming passage. Not too long to go now to finish Kazakhstan! Climb onto the platform and be very wary of the gas in here as it kills Lara very quickly. Use manual targetting to shoot both the obstructions in the passage, then use the Grapple points to pull the platform along to the far end. Jump to the next platform and use the Grapple again, preferably at the far end Grapple point from the front edge of the platform. Release the Grapple and duck under the electrified rod across the passage. If you have trouble hitting the far Grapple point, use manual targetting, or it can also be done with a single pull on the near Grapple point. Jump to the third platform, shoot out the obstruction, then move to the front edge of the platform. Use manual targetting to Grapple the far end Grapple point, and pull the platform. Release the Grapple and do a forward jump over the electrified bar to land on the safe floor ahead - this jump can be difficult to judge but as there was a Checkpoint just before this it's not far back. Continue on foot to the right and save your game after the next Checkpoint as the Boss Battle is coming up and you may like a short break!
Head down the passage and go through the door. A cutscene comes in where Lara talks to Amanda, who is obviously not the nice, friendly Amanda Lara knew before. Very not! But that's the story of Lara's life I suppose; so often she makes impulsive decisions that come back to bite her, and assuming Amanda was dead after the Paraiso Incident was just another.. Amanda has kept the stone she took to stop the Unknown Entity back in Paraiso, and learned how to use it to control the monster. She lets it loose to kill Lara, but of course Lara has a different idea about how this is going to end!
If you get the chance take a look around the room. In the centre is another Mag Gun, and around the room are four pairs of Tesla conductors arcing away merrily. Harder to see are four lighted pedestals, each with a lever switch. These are all off and are showing red lights. Of course the Unknown Entity is attacking Lara, so she has to keep moving to avoid the attacks, although it's not too difficult to avoid them as long as Lara keeps running and jumping. Lara has to do three things in this room, and the Entity can't be killed, so you need to move fast. Luckily the attacks, although damaging, aren't too dangerous, so as long as you had a good stock of health when you came into the room you should manage. When you see a red glow on the floor, get away from it quickly because that's where the Entity is about to attack!
Firstly Lara has to pull all four switches to power up the device above the Mag Gun. The simplest way to do this is to run around the room and switch them all on, while avoiding the Entity's attacks. With a little luck this is actually not too difficult, but there is a slower way that can help Lara avoid the Entity if you find this too hard. Go to the Mag Gun and use it to first attract the Entity, then throw it through one of the electric arcs. You need to accurately target the Entity, and throw it quickly, or it won't work. If it goes through the arc it will disappear for a short time to allow Lara to run to the switches one at a time, but you have to be fast. Either way, once all four switches are on, four larger balls descend from above and hang opposite the four sets of sparking conductors, and the device above the gun opens to show the sword fragment, which at the moment is protected by a magnetic field.
Now run to the gun and get on. The next thing you have to do is to aim at each of the four larger balls and push them into the electric arcs with several rapid taps of the Fire button, which holds them for a short time. Once all four are held in the arcs the protective field around the sword fragment is turned off, but as the large balls are only held for a short time, you have to push them in quickly to get them all in place together, and give Lara enough time to do the last thing - they only need around three taps on the Fire button each so don't waste time with extra taps.
Once the four are in place, quickly get off the Mag Gun, stay close to it, move the camera to face the sword fragment, and use the Grapple to pull the sword fragment down. This can take several tries to get right but with a bit of luck Lara will have enough health to withstand the Entity's attacks and try again, rather than dying and being kicked back to start the room again. Note that the Entity can still attack Lara when she's sitting on the Mag Gun, which can knock her off and further complicates things. However, it is possible to get through this room without losing very much health at all, and with a little luck you won't even need to replenish Lara's health to finish.
Once Lara gets the sword fragment a cutscene comes in where the room is subjected to a strong energy pulse and Amanda takes cover. Lara drops into an underfloor duct exposed by the energy pulse and talks to the guys, after which she travels to her next destination, Cornwall.

England - King Arthur's Tomb?

Objective - Lara is searching for King Arthur's grave, starting at the most unlikely place - a King Arthur Museum tourist attraction in Cornwall, one of many, which is now abandoned and derelict. But this one may just conceal the real thing.. As an aside, during this cinematic take a look at the tattoos on Zip's upper arms - I wonder if they would scan at a store checkout ;-)
Note - Toward the end of this level you will come across a number of guards carrying shields. These guys can be difficult to shoot from a distance, so a Grenade will help out. You can also close up on them and use the slide attack to knock them over so they become vulnerable, and the jump attack can also be useful. But be careful doing this while there are dogs about as they are best despatched first - you'll come across dogs in the curved spike passage at the top of the pit on the way out and they tend to rush in to attack, leaving the gunmen at a distance where they're less dangerous.
Playing at Maximum 'Tomb Raider' Difficulty - There aren't many problems at maximum difficulty in this level, except at the end where you need to be careful with the gunmen in the passages on the way back up to the surface, and do your best to get them before rushing headlong down any dark passages. But if Lara dies her health seems to be replenished a bit so it shouldn't be too hard. I didn't find the Sea Serpent to be any more difficult and didn't lose too much health subduing it, but as I'm getting the hang of dealing with it now it could be a little more difficult than before and I may not notice (this is, after all, my third full run through..)
Level - Lara starts the level inside the foyer of the derelict museum. It's quite dark here so Lara's PLS will come in handy as you look around. The door across the room is the main entrance, locked. There is a locked door in the room to the left behind Lara and next to it a sword in a stone, which should open that door, but which needs power. In the Gift Shop there is a crate and a locked exit door, and there's a ventilation grille above the Gift Shop entrance. To go further Lara needs to turn the power on, so once you've made your selection from the Gift Shop, use the Grapple to pull the grille out, then pull the crate under the grille and climb into the room above. Shoot the crate on the floor for the first Bronze Reward, then use the Grapple to pull the next ventilation grille out and roll through into the alley. (There are several items in the Gift Shop - a serpent, castle, and figurine - but although the glass fronts of the cabinets can be smashed and the items knocked to the floor, you can't pick anything up. Disappointed! ;-)
Go down the alley to the wooden panel lying on the ground against the right wall, and grab the narrow ledge above. Vault up to the top ledge, shimmy left over the fence, and drop to the ground. Use the lever on the power box to turn the power on, then climb the pipe in the corner to the top and right jump to the ledge. Go back out, drop to the lower ledge again, then shimmy and jump right as far as you can go, and at the end right jump to the ground by the Gift Shop wall. The water back down the alley is electrified now the power's on, so avoid that part, although the wooden panel on the ground is safe if you happened to drop off the far end low ledge. Go to the door which is now powered up, and through to the museum door around to the left, with the sword in the stone. Open the door by trying to pull the sword from the stone, and go through to the museum. Oh dear, this looks like it was once a very touristy place!
It's worth listening to the corny museum voiceovers (the first one was outside the door), so go to the three exhibits in this room and press the button to listen to them all, complete with comments from the guys. Be careful up here as the floor is rotten - if Lara falls down there are some ledges she can use to climb back up, but she'll lose a little health by falling so try to avoid it. Before going on, have a look at the dark corner of the room to the right from the entry door. In the wall over the gap in the floor there's an opening, which Lara can jump to from the solid section of floor near the knights exhibit. Go in and shoot the crate for the second Bronze Reward, then go back out, walk onto the plank across the broken floor, and face the first horizontal bar.
Jump to the bar and move to the outer end. Jump to the next bar, which will swivel temporarily, so quickly do a back jump to the third bar. If the second bar swivels back, just jump back to the first bar, and repeat the jump to the swivelling bar. From the third bar, jump to the drawbridge, which starts to pull it down. Immediately back jump to the third bar again, quickly turn around, and jump into the passage past the drawbridge before it raises and blocks the path. Check out the exhibit here (I love the crassness of the sword!) then go to the next gap in the floor. Use the manual targetting mode to shoot out the ring holding the coffin up, and when it falls jump to it, and then to the far floor. Check out the two exhibits in this room, then look for a low duct to the right of the battle scene. Roll through and shoot the crate for the third Bronze Reward. Go back out and try using the second sword in the stone to discover it's broken. Luckily the boards covering the door raising mechanism break away so move out into the room a little, face the door, and use the Grapple to pull the counterweight as far out as possible. Release it, run to the door, and roll under into the next room.
In here is a forklift and a bunch of palleted crates. When it appears, take note of the message onscreen about the raise/lower controls for the fork lift! Otherwise it's similar to the bike controls, with the Jump control forward, and the Grapple control reverse. The crates on the floor need to be moved out of the way so the forklift can proceed, and although they can be shot, don't do it as you need at least three of them for a goodie. Firstly, look for the high metal grill in the corner to the right as you came into this room, and use the Grapple to pull it out. Get into the forklift, and manoeuvre it into position to lift a crate. Make sure the forks are at their lowest position and approach the pallet square on so the forks slide neatly under. Don't go too fast as you can end up pushing the crate away! Lift the crate and carefully move it across the room under the high duct. Be careful not to go too quickly as this can cause the pallets to fall off the forks. Go get another two pallets - put one on top of the first, and the third beside them to make a staircase. (The physics of the forklift and pallets is quite impressive, they behave quite realistically!) Climb up into the duct and go into the office above for a voiceover filling in a little more of the plot. Grab the first Silver Reward and exit the room.
Now clear the rest of the pallets out of the way and drive the forklift carefully down the rickety stairs they were hiding. Get off and look around the room for some more conversations between Lara and the guys. Then get on the forklift, back it up into the passage, and go flat out for the stone sarcophagus at the end of the room. This should smash it, revealing the second Silver Reward.
Now go for the crates on the left wall. Get these out of the way, then drive the forklift at the wall to smash through into a dark passage with a spear trap ahead. If you're not sure which wall, just check around the room with Lara's PLS on and the breakable wall will be obvious. Drive the forklift down the passage and into the first spear trap which will shatter it. Continue to the second trap and drive through, then go on to the iron portcullis gate. Lower the forks to the ground and use the forklift to raise this high enough to drive under, then drop the forks down and drive on. Go through the next spear trap, and continue to the end wall. Note that although the spear traps should now be disabled, there may still be some damaged spears sticking out and they can hurt Lara if you go through here on foot! Now you have to knock the end wall down with a solid bash from the forklift, so back up a bit and ram it. An interactive cutscene follows, where the forklift breaks through the wall, then the ledge outside collapses and the fork lift plummets to the floor far below - during this you'll need to hit the Jump button so Lara can jump to grab the ledge she just fell off. Look around, and down..
From here to the bottom of the pit is possibly the most difficult area so far for Lara to negotiate. This is a deep pit with the remains of a staircase around the walls, except it's very delapidated with lots of sections missing, and quite a bit of what is left is ready to collapse as soon as Lara steps on it, or hangs from it. Because there are three goodies to get on the way down, and you can't retrace your steps for one of them, you may like to save your game at this Checkpoint! Move through the opening to the left onto the wider ledge, then turn around and use the Grapple to get the fourth Bronze Reward in the wall niche to the right when you came out of the passage. Then go to the left and down the stairs to the first gap. On the way down this section of stairs, use the Grapple to get the fifth Bronze Reward from the high niche - if you want to get this the hard way, then it is possible to get to it using the ledges on the wall, from where you can side jump to get in, so follow the next part of the walkthrough. But that way is tricky due to the crumbling stonework..
Jump from the bottom of this section of stairs to the ledge on the left wall over the gap, then right jump to the next ledge. This section is crumbling, so shimmy right quickly, go around the corner, and either jump to the niche for the goodie, or drop to the ledge below. This also starts to collapse, so you have to run down the stairs and jump the next gap before the ledge gives way, and the darkness doesn't help. For this reason it's a good idea to recharge the PLS before starting this short section, and the rest as well! Now look at the wall below the entrance across the other side of the pit, where another goodie can be seen inside a niche. This is probably not possible to get with the Grapple, even on manual targetting, but there's another way, which you can figure out using the Binoculars.
Run down this section of stairs and jump to the horizontal bar, then move along the bar so Lara is in line with the tall shallow alcove on the wall ahead. Swing to this, then hang off the edge, right jump to the next ledge, then quickly shimmy to the far right end across the crumbling section of the ledge, but don't let go when you get there - if you used the Binoculars in RAD mode before jumping you can tell that the ledge at the far right end is solid. Climb into the alcove and go along the short passage to the left to grab the sixth Bronze Reward. This is the only chance you have to get this Reward, unless you come back later to play the level again! (There's a Checkpoint when Lara reaches the end of the ledge, but loading from this Checkpoint puts Lara on the stairs below so she won't be able to reach the Reward - wait to save again until you reach the bottom and the next Checkpoint in the passage.)
Go back out and drop down to the next set of stairs, go down carefully to the edge (it's very dark, but if you move the camera directly above Lara you can see the edge a lot easier), and jump to the rope. Turn right a little and swing to the next stair section in the centre of the wall, and quickly go right and jump to the next ledge in the corner before this section collapses. Go to the bottom of the next section, jump to the ledge on the wall to the left, shimmy to the right, around the corner, and drop into the shallow alcove. Go to the other end of the alcove and drop to the floor of the pit, and check around. The room is pretty much empty except for two large stones embedded in archways in the walls, one with the number III on it. Pushing this in (a slow task as it's heavy) only results in it coming back out again so there's more to do yet. If you approach the second stone you'll notice that Lara looks down at one side of it, so there's something there and it's probably linked to the other one. But there's nothing to do here yet, so head across the room into the next passage for another Checkpoint! Now go have a coffee to relax your nerves ;-)
The next part doesn't look a lot better but really it's not too difficult. Go down the passage to the left and jump the burning oil, then head to the next fires. At the far end is a moveable crate so use the Grapple to pull it down this end. Position it so that it's sitting across the first, intermittent, set of flames, climb on top, and time a running jump to land on the other intermittent flames when they go out, and jump on the run again to reach the other side. If you're careful Lara will lose a little health here but not too much. Pull the crate through the flames and use it the same way on the next fire passage. Pull it through to the far end and push it against the centre of the closed gate under the gap in the spikes on top, then climb over into the next passage with all the spinning blade traps. You reach the next Checkpoint here.
WARNING - a bug has been reported later in this level, which may be linked with some things in this area. For safety, save your game here and use new slots for the saves further on. If you make it past the bug as detailed below then you're OK, but if the bug gets you try coming back here and replaying the rest of the level. More details on this are below..
Use the lever on the left to open the gate and pull the crate through. The way forward is through the centre set of spinning blades, but how to get through? You'll notice that each set of blades slows down and speeds up, and it's possible to roll under the blades when they slow down. But you need to push a couple of crates through because they will come in very handy further on, so to begin with you need to get a second crate out. Push the first crate into one side of the blades on the right of the entry door (opposite side of the room to the lever on the floor) to jam them - pushing on an angle works best. Make sure the crate is to one side of the doorway, then go into the room and pull the second crate out through the gap. Pull the first crate back out as well so you now have two crates to use. Now for a small diversion - use one of the crates to jam the blades to the left of the entry door (beside the lever), and go in and grab the third Silver Reward. Head back out and move the two crates through the centre blade trap into the next room in the same way you got the second crate out of the side chamber.
WARNING - there are two large stones marked I and II on the balconies on either side in here, which may be related to the reported bug later on. I've completed this full level three times now (starting from a New Game each time) - I didn't push them any time, and I didn't see the bug, so I suggest you leave them alone for now! Lara can use these on her way back out through here a little later..
Push both crates through the next set of blades. Push one onto the first section of the fire in the passage directly ahead, then move the second crate behind it, and push both crates out until the second crate is on the first section of fire. Climb on and do a running jump across the fires to the safe floor opposite. Continue to the next room with the large door directly ahead. Up on the right is a ledge that is Lara's route back out of here later, so ignore it. Use the lever on the floor to open the door nearby. Run through the door before it closes and follow the passage to the next Checkpoint.
Ahead, down the tunnel, is a closed gate, which is opened by standing on the pressure plate. But as Lara can't stand on it and go down the passage at the same time, then something must be found to place on it and hold the gate open. Look to the left to see a large pool of water, so jump in and practice your swimming. Climb out at the far end and look around. In a barred alcove on the side wall over the water is a coffin, which would do very nicely thank you to hold the pressure plate down. The chandelier nearby can be used to break the bars, so move behind the chandelier so that Lara can pull it in line with the barred alcove, use the Grapple to pull the chandelier back as far as possible, then release it so it breaks the bars. Use the Grapple to pull the coffin into the water. Before going on there's a goodie to get, so look for the second chandelier and barred alcove, and do the same for it. Use the Grapple to get the seventh Bronze Reward, then head back and step onto the coffin. Use the Grapple on the lantern on the left wall, then the one on the right wall further up, to pull the coffin as far as possible. When the coffin is as near to the far end as you can get it, use the Grapple on the third lantern behind the pressure plate and pull it out onto the floor. Step onto the pressure plate to depress it, and use the Grapple to pull the coffin on to hold the pressure plate down.
Continue down the passage and through the open gate, then around to the dark flooded passage. There are currents in here but Lara can swim against them so no problems - to swim faster tap Action in time with her swimming. However she does need another coffin to use as a boat, and you can see it down to the right - she can climb on this anytime, so again no worries if you fall off. Note that there are lots of wall lanterns in here, and they can be used in conjunction with the Grapple to pull the coffin around, so even if it drifts down a side passage you can easily get it back to where you want it.
Firstly, drop into the water, swim back into the chamber directly beneath where Lara was standing, and grab the eighth Bronze Reward. Then swim against the current to the lever across the passage and pull it to open the first gate. Swim quickly down to the coffin, climb aboard, and turn to the right to look for an opening in the wall which Lara can jump through to reach the next channel. Jump through when Lara reaches it, then swim down the passage on the left, then left again, and pull the next lever. The coffin should be waiting outside so climb aboard again when it comes through. Now turn to look for the side passage you just swam down, and as soon as you can see the lantern on the far wall to the right of the next goodie, use the Grapple and pull yourself to it. Jump into the alcove and grab the fourth Silver Reward, then swim to the coffin and use the Grapple to pull Lara back to this alcove. Release the Grapple, turn right, and use it again on the next lantern to pull the coffin straight ahead to the opening in the wall. Jump into the opening, then drop into the far side and swim ahead.
A short flyby shows Lara swimming over a small waterfall into an underground lake. You can swim around here, but apart from the four winches, each on its own little island, there's nothing to see. So head down the lake away from the waterfall, go to the left of the causeway in the centre on the far side, and pull out onto the flat ground in front of the building. You may have noticed a rather disturbing sound as you swam across, which is a portent of things to come. You may also have noticed Lara coughing as she swam across as the water is somewhat unpleasant - this lake is quite ominous..
Before going on take some time to familiarise yourself with the lake and the layout of the flat ground and the causeway, and note the position of the four winches, each with a cage overhead on a cable, and each with a cylinder next to it. Two of these are close to the building on either side, and the outer pair are close to the end of the causeway. The winches each have a locking lever which can be released with the Grapple to drop the cage, and the cylinder next to each winch can be targetted with the Pistols. Practice doing both these things on all four and make sure you're familiar with the position to stand to shoot each one, and use the Grapple effectively to release the locking lever, as when you come back out here shortly you won't have time to figure this out! Trust me.. When you're comfortable with this, check out the building.
Either side of the large centre doorway there's a burning brazier on an arm, and these need to be moved. Use the Grapple on each arm to swing it 90 degrees clockwise, then go to the pillar on the left side of the building, climb up to the ledge, and jump to the bar on the right. From this swing to the slope ahead, then as Lara slides down jump to the first swinging arm you just moved into place. This will swing back to its original position, and above you can see a Grapple point between this and the next arm. Swing forward, use the Grapple to grab the overhead fitting, then get a good swing up to reach the second swinging arm - this may need Lara to be lowered a little on the Grapple line, but don't drop her too low as she will land on the ground and you'll have to do it again. When the second arm swings to its starting position, jump to the ledge ahead, climb to the top ledge, then use the narrow ledges to shimmy, vault, and jump twice to the right, to land near the chain, or even grab it. Climb the chain and backflip onto the ledge at the top for another Checkpoint.
Go across the roof of the building to the far rear corner and grab the fifth Silver Reward. Then go to the cupola nearby, jump to the rope, and slide down into the main chamber of the building for a cutscene with some interesting information. There is only one task in this room, so wander around and inspect everything, including the nameplates on each sarcophagus. One of these has suffered damage, and as Lara approaches it she'll talk to the guys. You need to move the front part of this sarcophagus across the room. If you look over the other side you can see a counterweight hanging near a broken pillar. Move the broken part across the room and push it against the pillar, which will allow Lara to climb to the top of the pillar. Go back now to a position near the crystal egg, facing directly down the centre of the room to the chandelier. The following needs to be done without a break, but it's not that tightly timed. First Grapple the chandelier, and give it a good pull or three to get it swinging as high as possible - this swing needs to be going well over the bell on the floor. Run to the broken piece of sarcophagus, climb on it, then onto the pillar. Jump to the counterweight and hang on while it lowers and the bell rises. If everything worked right the chandelier will strike the bell, the sound of which will shatter the crystal egg. Lara goes and removes the sword fragment, and hears some disturbing news from the guys above, but it's nothing compared to what's waiting outside!
WARNING - as mentioned earlier, there have been reports on the web of a possible bug in the following fight, where the two furthest cages won't lower when the locking levers are pulled. As yet I've not seen a definite fix for this, however I have a suspicion that it may be caused by pushing those two stones mentioned above (marked I and II) before coming in here. If you see the bug, then try going back to the earlier save as mentioned above! If you manage to get all four cages to hit the Serpent then you've avoided the bug so it's safe to save at the next Checkpoint after that.
There's a Checkpoint as the cutscene ends so if Lara dies in the next attack it's not too far back. Go across to the now open main door, and head out for a nasty shock. Remember the serpent Apep in Cairo in Last Revelation? Well this one's a Sea Serpent and it's bigger and badder - definitely not the 'Lady of the Lake'! Around the lake are four cages on cables connected to four winches, and beside the winches four metal cylinders. You have to hit the Serpent on the head with all four cages, while avoiding its attacks, although avoiding the attacks is mostly a matter of keeping moving, with a bit of luck thrown in. Oh, and avoid falling in the water as it's the last place you want to be right now! This needs good coordination to complete, and a bit of patience, and Lara will lose some health, but if you get it all right she won't lose very much. The Serpent can attack either by lunging at Lara and biting, or by spitting poison, both of which are less dangerous if you keep moving.
Move Lara so the Serpent is lured near one of the cages, then fire at the metal cylinder below that cage until the Serpent is mesmerised by it and moves under the cage above - this could take a few seconds, during which it can still attack Lara, so keep sidestepping while you shoot. Make sure Lara doesn't get too far from the cylinder and that she is in a position to pull the locking lever, so don't go too far to the side of the nearest winches. Note that the Serpent is only mesmerised for a short time, even if you continue shooting at the cylinder, so the moment you see it become mesmerised you need to act quickly! Once the Serpent becomes mesmerised, immediately holster the Pistols and use the Grapple on the locking lever, then pull the lever to drop the cage on its head. When this happens the Serpent will destroy the cylinder below the cage in anger. This has to be repeated with all four cages! The two cages out in the lake require Lara to move right out to the end of the causeway where it's easy to fall off, so try to be aware at all times where Lara is standing! If you drop a cage and miss, move onto another one as the cage takes a short time to raise, which time is better spent trying another spot. This is not easy at first, but after a couple of attempts it will become more obvious how to avoid the attacks, and drop the cages. Once you get the feel for it, it's actually fairly easy.
When all four cages have hit the Serpent it will drop down unconscious, providing Lara with a bridge to get out. Swim across to the small island next to the Serpent, climb out, climb onto the rock by the Serpent, and carefully walk along the Serpent's body to just before its head. If you fall off don't panic, just swim back around and try again - this isn't timed. Climb onto the ledge on the right just before its head, vault to the top ledge, then head into the passage. This passage is quite dangerous, so watch your step! At the first pit use the Grapple to swing across and go to the next pit. Use the horizontal bar to swing across here, after which Lara will slide down a slope. As she approaches the next pit be sure to jump across, after which an interactive cutsene ensues. The Serpent has woken up and has no intention of letting Lara go - during the cutscene you'll need to use Jump, Grapple, and Action for Lara to avoid the Serpent. The gate drops into place and stops the Serpent reaching Lara. That's the last you'll see of that nasty piece of work!
Go to the next gate, and use one of the shields to climb and vault to the top edge. Shimmy to the centre directly below the rope, and vault up to grab the rope. Turn Lara around the rope and drop into the small chamber to get the ninth Bronze Reward. Use the Pistols in manual targetting mode to shoot the ring holding the rope to the top of the gate, climb back up, and vault to grab the loose rope. Turn around, swing into the higher level passage ahead, and use the lever to open the next gate. Continue on to slide down to the ledge you passed on the way in, near the fire floors. From here out is still dangerous, but there should be enough medipacks left around if Lara's health is down. Be sure to check anything dropped by the guards as you could probably do with some extra supplies - Grenades will come in very handy in a few places on the way out!
Drop to the floor and watch out for a couple of guards coming down the passage. The lever nearby can be used to start the first fires, and with a bit of luck barbecue a couple of guards, but at the very least lighting the fires keeps them at a distance. Use manual targetting with the Pistols for better success, and stay as far back as possible. Once they're down, turn the fires off and head through. Past the first blade trap there are another couple of guards up on a ledge to the left so get them quickly. Move the crate around so it's against the wall under one balcony, and get the second crate nearby and do the same with the other balcony. One balcony has a broken edge so the crate needs to be placed below one side so Lara can pull up. Climb up onto both balconies and push the large stones in as far as they'll go - they're heavy so take a few seconds. They need to be done in numerical order, so the stone marked I is first, then the stone marked II. Use the crates to continue back through the blades to the first fire passages, and don't rush ahead until you've got the guards waiting in the passages ahead. The first will probably be through the barred opening in the wall directly ahead, and watch out for more through the bars, or on the far side of the first fires. Then use the two crates to cross the two sets of fires, pushing both crates onto the fires, then doing a running jump from them while holding the Jump control down to give Lara enough distance to reach the far side without getting burnt.
There will probably be another guard in the last part of the passage over the fire pit, then once you get back to the deep pit, get the next gunman waiting near the elevator they rigged to get down here. When the coast is clear, go to the left and push the III stone in - this will open the alcove on the right so you can grab this level's Gold Reward. Go to the top of the broken stairs and jump into the elevator cage, then press the button and go to the top of the pit. Before getting off take care of the guard above, then jump to the broken stairs on the right. If you like you can use the Grapple on a place on the wall near the base of the stairs to pull the elevator so it swings closer, but it's not essential if you get a good jump. Climb to the top of the deep pit and go to the passage you drove the forklift through. Through this passage there are a number of dogs and guards to get, and a good way is to toss a Grenade down the passage when you see the guards and Lara's targetting them. Press on past the attacks, grabbing all the stores you need on the way, and watch out for more guards in the room at the end.
When they're down go to the right and up the wooden stairs for the last couple of gunmen in this level, who are waiting up the top in the loading bay. When these last two gunmen drop a cutscene will come in to end the level. Lara goes back home, examines the sword fragments, then heads off to Nepal for the next adventure, to find the key to combine the sword fragments!

Objective - to find the Ghalali Key, which is needed to combine the sword pieces, then reforge the sword and escape.
Playing at Maximum 'Tomb Raider' Difficulty - There are no particular problems in this level at maximum difficulty. There aren't a lot of bad guys here - just a single group of gunmen and several pussy cats. Yes, the gunmen Lara comes across just before the icy river are harder to beat and Lara can lose some health, so you do need to be a little careful there, but it's not all that difficult if you've made it this far through the game. The real challenges in this level are the terrain, which is tricky to negotiate at any difficulty level, and the icy river, which can drain Lara's health at an alarming rate, so you do need to be careful with the bad guys to save health.
Level - Lara is yet again in the snow, hope you brought your gloves ;-) This time she's on a precipitous ledge high above a mountain valley in Nepal, and the view is fantastic. (I've been constantly amazed at just how good the PS2 game looks!) These snowy ravines are quite dangerous, but if you've reached this far into the game you should be able to handle them without too much trouble. In fact all through this level the terrain is as tricky as it gets in Legend, and a lot of fun, but I suspect this level will be very difficult to beat in Time Trial mode! (If you beat the Time Trial for this level you unlock the cheat to use Excaliber in any level, so good luck ;-)
Jump up and grab the ledge, then shimmy to the left quickly to avoid the crumbling section. Pull up onto the next ledge at the far end, and from there to the top of the platform. Slide down the slope ahead, and jump to the ledge across the gap. Jump across the next gap to the narrow ledge, drop down to the lower ledge, and shimmy around to the left as far as possible. Back jump across the ravine and quickly shimmy right to avoid the collapsing ledge, then vault up and climb onto the platform. To the left is an upward sloping platform - when you jump to it run to the far end as it collapses, and jump to the horizontal bar. Quickly swing to the next solid ledge before the bar breaks, and climb up to the safe top platform. Yes, there are a lot of things here ready to break off when Lara grabs them, but unfortunately none of them is a brass monkey ;-)
Go to the other side of the platform and hang off, drop down a ledge, then to the narrow ledge for the first Bronze Reward. To climb back up, move to either side and vault back up to the top. Now get ready for a slightly hairy set of jumps. Jump up and use the Grapple on the bell overhead, then get Lara carefully lined up with the icicles and get a big swing going. Jump to the first icicle, then across the series of icicles, and finally to the crack in the ice. The icicles break away so you have to be fast, but as long as you were in line with the swing this isn't too difficult, just keep jumping forward quickly. Shimmy to the right, vault up, and continue right, then vault to the top edge of the ledge around the corner. Before pulling up shimmy as far right as possible and pull up onto the hidden ledge for the first Silver Reward. Shimmy back to the exposed ledge and pull up.
On Lara's right is an ice wall that looks a little flimsy. Shoot it out and proceed through the tunnel to the ravine on the other side, overlooking the aircraft wreckage from the crash when Lara was a child. Go to the right and jump to the next pillar, then go forward and slide down the slope, jump to the second slope, and at the bottom to the precarious pillar that looks as though a good sneeze would collapse it. Obviously not though.. Go to the left and jump to the next platform, which starts to collapse so run forward and jump to the horizontal bar. Line up with the wreckage overhead, then swing and jump, and quickly use the Grapple to swing to the next ice ledge. Before going on, turn around and look for another flimsy section of ice to the right. Shoot it out, and jump to the small ice cave for the second Silver Reward. Jump back and go through the cave. At the far end jump to the broken wing to the right, drop down one ledge, then back jump to the crack in the ice. Shimmy to the right and drop down twice to the ledge at the bottom of the wing.
Go behind the wing - Lara has to duck under the wrecked propellor to get in there - and grab the second Bronze Reward, then head out and go down the path. Drop down to the flat area behind the wrecked fuselage, and watch out for a Snow Leopard. For now stay away from the fuselage as it's very unstable! Go across to the ledge on the other side of the fuselage, climb up, and use the Grapple to pull some debris out of the way. Jump across the crevasse and get the third Silver Reward, then head back to the fuselage. Pull the wrecked engine across so it's behind the fuselage, then carefully step inside, climb up onto the cabin floor and turn around. Don't go any further forward yet! Use the Grapple to pull the engine into the fuselage so it's firmly against the bulkhead below Lara's feet, then let go. A Checkpoint sounds here as the next bit is dangerous. (For those interested in the game's physics, try pulling the engine only partway across, then release and watch it slowly slide and rotate on the ice.) If for some reason you need another weight to hold the aircraft steady, there's a second engine on the ledge above where Lara climbed down the wing and this can be moved to the edge of that ledge, then pulled down from below.
Walk towards the aircraft cockpit to trigger a cutscene where Lara spots the item she's looking for, then be ready to use the correct controls in the interactive cutscene that follows. First hit Action to grab the Ghalali Key, then Run, Roll under the dislodged seat, and finally Jump to reach safety. Now go forward to the edge overlooking the icy slope and get ready for a tricky series of slides and jumps. You'll need to hold down the Jump button through the jumps here so Lara gets more distance! Jump forward onto the slope, and at the bottom jump to the horizontal bar and immediately jump to the next slope before it breaks. At the bottom jump to the next slope, then the next, shoot out the ice wall ahead, then at the bottom of this slope jump to the next. At the bottom of this last slope, jump to grab the next bar, and immediately swing and jump to the ledge ahead. This one is safe, so take a breather!
Go to the left, and stand on the edge overlooking the ravine you just traversed. Across the other side in the structure is the third Bronze Reward, and you can get it with the Grapple. Now turn around and go down the ice cave to the next area - you may like to save your game as you go through the Checkpoint, but remember that if you load it again you'll have to check to be sure that last goodie hasn't disappeared out of Lara's pack.. It shouldn't, but it depends on when you triggered the Checkpoint - before or after you got the goodie - and you can't get back once you go a little further!
The next couple of sections are quite tricky, and there's not a Checkpoint for a while yet (this is the first time in the game I was wishing I could save anywhere I liked..) Go forward and jump to the platform to the left for a bit of overacting from Alister ;-) Turn right and jump to the bar, then swing to the narrow ledge on the wall ahead. Move to the far left, and side jump to the next ledge on the left. Quickly shimmy left as this ledge is collapsing, and at the end let Lara drop to the ledge below. Back jump to the bar and line Lara up with the two icicles. Swing to the first one and climb to the top, then forward jump to the second, climb to the top, and turn Lara to the right to face the centre of the balanced platform. Neither of these icicles will break - the crackling sound you hear is the finely balanced ice platform ahead! When Lara is facing the platform put the camera behind her, and keep the up control pressed so Lara will jump forward (the camera angles are tricky in here). Forward jump to the platform, then run across and jump to the narrow ice ledge ahead before the platform topples over. Shimmy right and pull up onto the flat ledge. Turn around and go to the right edge of the ledge facing back the way you came, wait for the ice platform to fall off, then use the Grapple to get the fourth Bronze Reward in the small alcove across the other side of the ravine, near the second icicle (it is possible to get this one while balancing on the ice platform before jumping to the next ledge if you want a challenge, but you need to keep adjusting Lara's position so she doesn't fall off!)
Go to the other side of this ledge, and get ready for another goodie. Hang off the edge, shimmy left, and drop down to the lower crack. Shimmy to the far left again, drop down two cracks, shimmy left, and pull up into the alcove for this level's Gold Reward. Return to the ice ledge where you started. Jump up to the crack beside the ledge and shimmy as far right as you can go. Jump to the crack across the ravine, drop down to the lower crack, and shimmy to the left. Back jump to the carved pole and climb to the top, then right jump to the next narrow ice ledge. Shimmy to the far right end, and right jump to the ledge on the next wall. Shimmy quickly to the right as this collapses, and at the end vault up to the passage above before Lara falls. In the next area are a bunch of gunmen, and the next Checkpoint is down the tunnel, so be sure to cross it while you're fighting these guys or you'll have to go back a long way and do it all over again if Lara gets deaded!
The water in this area is very cold and will drain Lara's health, so try not to fall in! There are several gunmen on the ground with Lara, as well as a couple on higher ledges ahead and to the right. There are also several explosive objects around which Lara can blow up to help in the fight. Use the terrain for cover where possible, then when all the bad guys are down it's time for some more goodies! Climb onto the small ice mound next to the passage you came in through. The wall nearby is breakable, so use the Pistols on manual targetting to shoot it out, and jump into the alcove for the fourth Silver Reward. Drop to the ground and go to the left from the entrance, around the corner near the water's edge, and into the ice cave for the fifth Bronze Reward. Go across the area to the middle ice mound, climb up, and jump to the nearby ledge, then around the right to the next ledge for the sixth Bronze Reward in plain sight.
Move to the back of this ledge where the icy steps are, and line up with the platform where the zipline starts. Run and jump off the edge, use the Grapple on the bell above, and make a single big swing to the next platform - if you try to swing Lara back and forth here an ice slope will knock her off the Grapple so you'll have to do it again. Climb to the high ledge and use the Zipline to reach the other side of the area. Head into the ice cave, slide down the slope, and at the bottom go forward for the next Checkpoint! You may like to save again here and go make a coffee, I did ;-)
Head down the cave and go into the passage on the left for the seventh Bronze Reward, then continue down to the water. Jump to the first ice floe, then to the second. The gap to the third is too far to jump, and the water is very cold, but there's a block of ice hanging from the roof of the cave just in front of Lara that can be shot with the Pistols on manual targetting. This drops into the water so Lara can get closer to the last bit of ice. From there jump to the opening on the left and drop down to the ice ledge on the other side. Ahead is an underground river and there are ice floes moving from left to right. Lara needs to get to the next cave across the river to the left, and she can do this by jumping upstream from ice floe to ice floe, but you need to wait for a string of floes to be able to get there. But before jumping to the passage across the river, jump into the alcove on the left opposite the passage for the fifth Silver Reward. Then wait for another nice set of floes to get across the river to the passage. If you fall into the water swim fast to get out and Lara won't lose too much health, but don't dawdle - tap the Action control for Lara to swim faster!
Once across the river head up the passage and up the stairs. Get the Snow Leopard which appears when Lara emerges into the large hall at the top, then go to the stairs close by on the right and follow them down to the bottom. Turn the PLS on and look for a panel in the dark corner on the right that can be shot out. Climb in and get the sixth Silver Reward, then head back to the top and walk to the edge overlooking the room. Use the Binoculars on RAD mode and check out all the dangerous platforms and interesting mechanisms scattered around the area, then look on the ceiling for three bells that can be Grappled. You need to Grapple the first one, turn left to face the next, and get three or so big swings before jumping and immediately using the Grapple again. Turn right and do the same for the third to reach the floor at the far end by the large Buddha statue, then get the next Snow Leopard before it takes too many chunks out of Lara. Go up the stairs to the left and right and get the eighth and ninth Bronze Rewards, one on each balcony - these are the last rewards to get in the main game levels!
Now go down to the Buddha statue. This is actually a set of scales, with the Buddha's arms the two sides of the scales. You need to get the carved golden block onto the platform above, and to do this needs the use of the other two blocks to overbalance the scales. First, climb onto the ledge beside the scale trays, and step on the side nearest the two plain blocks. When it drops to the floor, pull the smallest block on with the Grapple. Then climb onto the tray near the golden block, and when it drops pull the golden block onto the tray. Go back across to the other tray, and when it drops pull the large plain block on it to keep the golden block at the same height as the ledge. Climb back onto the ledge and use the Grapple to pull the carved block off, then push it carefully onto the gold pressure plate so it fits neatly (this could take a bit of moving to and fro to get it into the right place, but you'll know when it is as the pressure pad drops a short distance).
Drop down to the floor and go through the now open doors under the Buddha statue. Head down the stairs for a cutscene where Lara uses the Ghalali Key to reforge Excaliber. When you get control again, try out Excaliber - it has some pretty hefty powers! (You may notice that your second weapon is replaced by Excaliber, but you only need the sword from now on.) Then go down the passage either side of the stairs you came down and save your game after the Checkpoint for a dangerous run out of here. Head to the door and use Excaliber to smash it from a distance, then head out for another short cutscene where the platforms start to collapse. The many ways for Lara to die.. Lara has to jump the platforms to reach the other side and end the level, but as the one she's on is collapsing around her now is a very good time to get moving. In case you don't get the message the movement icon appears onscreen. Jump to the platform to the left, veer right, and jump to the next platform. Run to the right and jump to the centre platform, then run to the left and jump to grab the last platform before the one you're on collapses - you'll have to jump well before reaching the end. Once on the last platform wait just a moment for it to start tipping forward, then jump to grab the edge of the safe ledge ahead. When Lara gets a good grip on the ledge the level ends and Lara explains that she has to go back to Bolivia.

Objective - To place Excaliber in the stone dais. Easily said, but not so easily done of course..
Playing at Maximum 'Tomb Raider' Difficulty - As you'd expect, the final showdown is quite tricky on maximum difficulty! It's even more important that you be careful of Lara's health in the first battle with the gunmen, and as they drop less medipacks at this difficulty you need to be more vigilant about grabbing them as they appear. Try to get the machine gunner as early as possible, but as this only requires a single close range attack it won't be too difficult. Any gunmen with shields are easily taken out with a single sword attack as well, but Lara can easily be injured as she is effectively surrounded throughout this fight, with several fresh gunmen arriving to replace those who drop, so she must keep moving. The final battle with the Entity requires Lara to avoid as many attacks as possible, while still pressing her own attacks home and being ready to rush in and stab the Entity each time it drops. This can be quite tricky to do and you need to make sure Lara doesn't get tangled with the various obstacles so she can always be ready to jump away from danger!
Level - The level starts with Lara revisiting the small plateau with the standing stones seen at the end of the first level of the game, hence the alternative title 'Bolivia Redux'. Lara confronts Amanda and Rutland and warns them to stay out of her way - they appear to be a item, so that must be why Lara kept running into one or the other on the way here! But of course they decline her recommendation so she deals with them. Lara now has to fight a bunch of gunmen, but this is fairly easy now you have Excaliber. The best way is to be aggressive, and keep moving to avoid the grenades and machine gun fire. Be sure to keep Lara's health up and take any chance you get to grab a medipack, as you'll need them shortly! This isn't too difficult, and once you've dealt with the gunmen who were there, and any reinforcements who appear, Lara talks to Amanda again. Amanda is determined to be the one to use Excaliber, so she summons the Unknown Entity!
Tomb Raider Legend Walkthrough Ps2 England Edition
This is quite a bit trickier. The Entity can launch some pretty devastating attacks so although Excaliber can do it some damage it is not an easy battle. Lara must avoid most of these attacks so she doesn't lose too much health, and a good way seems to be not to attack continuously, but rather dodge the Entity's attacks, then launch an attack of your own, before dodging again. Use the standing stones as shields, and try rolling left and right frequently rather than jumping (rolling is less disruptive), and sidestepping as much as possible in between the rolls rather than running forward and back. In other words, try to keep moving sideways back and forth across the front of the Entity so its attacks mostly fall to one side of Lara. You also need to keep fairly close to it as Lara needs to be able to reach it in a hurry several times during the battle. When Lara is attacking with Excaliber she loses some mobility, so she is fairly prone to attack. You should keep holding the Weapons button for the complete battle so that Lara can keep a lock on the Entity, and if she loses the lock at any time swing the camera quickly so she gets it back again. Of course there is also the risk of falling off the platform on which the battle is taking place, so you really need to maintain an awareness of Lara's position as well. But once you get to know the Entity's attacks and how to avoid them, it becomes easier.
The Entity will drop temporarily when it takes enough damage, at which point you must get to it quickly and launch the melee attack shown on the screen - the Action attack, as used on inanimate objects, but this time Lara must go right up to the target to complete the attack. Lara uses Excaliber to stab the Entity, but it needs more than a single successful stab attack to make it go down for good. The Entity doesn't drop for long so it pays to stay fairly close to the Entity during the battle and to try to be aware of when it's about to drop, which is a good time to press an attack closer in so Lara can get to it easily to stab it. Keep your eye on the Entity's health meter on the top right of the screen so you have an idea of how much of the battle is yet to go. Once Lara manages to stab the Entity successfully four times the battle ends, as does the game! You then get to see the final cinematic with a bit of a surprise twist, not to mention setting up the next game in the series!
At first this battle may be quite intimidating, and it does require a good level of control to win, but it becomes easier with practice (for those who've played Angel of Darkness it's easier than the Boaz battle, but almost anything is easier than that..)
After the cinematic, make sure you 'Save and Quit' the game to complete it and unlock the extras - you won't want to do that again in a hurry! Now you can go on to find all the remaining Rewards in Croft Manor, and repeat any of the game levels to find Rewards you missed, or to beat the Time Trials.

Objective - Explore Lara's home and find all the goodies!
How to access Croft Manor - At the game's Main Menu, select Croft Manor. This will bring up a list of savegames to choose from - the reason for this is that you're not actually going to save Croft Manor itself, just the Rewards you find, so you must select the latest savegame from the menu! Similarly, when exiting the game save the Manor into the latest savegame again. Doing that means that all the goodies you've found are retained and included in your game statistics.
Level - Croft Manor isn't one of the main levels of the game, but it does contain a heap of goodies to look for, 27 in total, which unlock more Extras. You will need to find two items to complete the mansion; the Pistols and the Grapple. You can also find the Binoculars and the PLS, but although these are useful, they aren't essential. For example, the PLS can be used to see wall or floor sections that aren't normal - if you use it in the Main Hall, it shows a couple of floor sections that are parts of the puzzle for the Gold Reward in this level. There are also some very dark corners where it comes in handy. The Binoculars in RAD mode are useful to identify some puzzle elements, although they don't show everything.
There are five main areas to explore in Lara's home:
Main Hall - This includes both the ground entry level and the balconies on either side. Zip's computer room is at one end, walled off with glass. Winston is standing by the fire, and Zip is at his computer. Lara may talk to Zip when she goes into his room, but there is no other interaction with either man.
Gymnasium - Lara has a lot of gymnastic equipment, and the walls have climbing equipment fitted. There's a small pool here as well. This is a great place to waste some time by climbing around the room, playing with the gym equipment etc.!
Swimming Pool - This is full of water ;-) and there is also an upper balcony to explore. Don't touch the pair of statues on the upper balcony above the entry passage until you read my comments later as you can easily block access to one of the Rewards by doing the wrong thing!!!
Lara's Private Suite - Sitting room, bedroom and dressing room. You can change Lara's outfit in the dressing room by standing beside the open wardrobe and pressing Action. This also replenishes her health if you've had a slight accident with Lara and she needs a bandage or two..
Study - Alister hides in here. Along with some secret areas. And lots of books.. Lara may talk to Alister while she's in the Study, but otherwise Alister's role is just ornamental.

Now to go exploring!
First thing is to find the Grapple and the Pistols, then the PLS and Binoculars. For the moment don't bother getting any Rewards unless you actually trip over them - there's plenty of time to find them once you get Lara's gear.
The Grapple is in Zip's room - use the computer on the floor to the right near Zip to open the wall safe where it is to be found.
Next head up the stairs and to the left, and go to the far end of the left balcony. Open the door on the right and go down the passage to Lara's Private Suite. These comprise three rooms - sitting room, bedroom, and dressing room. As you enter the sitting room from the passage, go to the wall on the left and operate the two switches either side of the wall plaque. This reveals a cavity behind the plaque containing the Pistols.
Now for the PLS to light those dark corners. Go back out of Lara's Private Suite and to the other end of the left balcony. Go through the door on the left and through the passage to the Study. The PLS is on the desk next to Alister.
Finally the Binoculars. Go back down to the ground floor of the Main Hall, and to the doorway between the fireplace and Zip's room. Go through the passage to the Swimming Pool. Go to the left of the Pool and use the Grapple to pull the spears held by each of the two statues to their extended positions. Now go to the right of the pool and pull both fish statues out of their alcoves. Climb the low statue and jump to the bar, then to the ledge under the small balcony. Shimmy around to the other side and jump to the second, higher, statue. Jump to the next bar, then to the balcony above the entry passage. It's important at this stage that you don't touch the two statues on this balcony as doing the wrong thing with them will block access to one of the Rewards! Go to the other side, jump to the bar you pulled out, then jump and use the Grapple on the high Grapple point. Swing to the second bar, then to the far end balcony. Go to the alcove at the centre of the back wall for the Binoculars. Now return to the Main Hall to start the search for all the Rewards.
Rewards
I'm assuming from now on that you've already collected the Grapple, Pistols, PDS, and Binoculars - if not then follow the above guide to find them all before doing the tasks below.
Main Hall
There are four Rewards in the Main Hall, including the Gold Reward which will not become available until you've found, and solved, several clues, so will be collected later. Firstly, go to the corner to the left when the Manor loads, where there is a closed door under the left staircase, and collect the first Bronze Reward which is standing beside the door in plain view. Go up the staircase to the left and use the Grapple to pull out the circular object high on the wall at the top of the stairs. This opens an alcove underneath which contains the second Bronze Reward. Go back to the stairs and to the top of the right hand stairs, and look for another circular object high on the wall. Use the Pistols on manual targetting to shoot this so that it's pushed in, which opens an alcove underneath containing the first Silver Reward. Now go back across to the left balcony to the far end, go through the door, and head along to Lara's Private Suite.
Lara's Private Suite
Go to the left into Lara's bedroom. Behind the bedhead you'll find the third Bronze Reward - this is the only Reward in this area. Return to the left balcony, and go to the door on the left at the other end. Go through to the Study.
Study
The Study contains a total of six Rewards, five of which can be found now. Go up the stairs to the top floor of the Study and around to the room on the other side of the balcony. The fourth Bronze Reward is in plain view on the floor to the right as you enter the room. Go to the rear left hand corner of this room and pull the switch to open a small alcove in the rear wall containing the fifth Bronze Reward. Return to the bottom floor of the Study and look for a planked off section of wall in the dark corner directly beneath the top of the stairs. Shoot this out to reveal the second Silver Reward. Pull the small bookshelf unit out of this alcove, move it down the room, and place it on one of the pressure pads on the floor to either side of the desk. Look high up above the bottom of the stairs and use the Grapple to hinge a section of railing down, which allows another small bookshelf to fall to the floor. Move this bookshelf onto the other pressure pad beside the desk. This opens a secret door in the wall at the bottom of the stairs. Head down the secret passage and get the third Silver Reward in clear view at the first corner of the passage, then shoot out the crate in the second corner of the passage to find the sixth Bronze Reward. Near where the Silver Reward was, smash the pile of crates at the corner, or kick them out of the way. Look for a wall plaque near the corner of a face with a protruding tongue, and press the tongue to reveal a carved panel to the left. Go to this panel and press Action to read the first clue for the Gold Reward - 'Above the Waters, Twin Sisters turn their backs one upon the other to leave the Ambages unguarded'. Hmmm.. This will become a little clearer shortly! The last Reward in this area is not yet available, so go to the other end of the secret passage and press the tongue on the other wall plaque to open a second secret door, this time leading into Lara's sitting room. Brush all the cobwebs out of your hair, freshen up, then return to the ground floor of the Main Hall. Go to the doorway past the fireplace and head through to the Swimming Pool.
Swimming Pool
In this I'm assuming you've already been through this room to get the Binoculars - if not, then follow the directions above to prepare the way as you need to do the same jumps again shortly. From the entrance, go around the left of the pool and pull the fish statue out of the middle of the wall. Move it right up to the edge of the pool for later use, and go into the alcove it was in to get the seventh Bronze Reward. Go to the rear left corner where the deck chairs are and grab the eighth Bronze Reward from behind the chairs. Dive into the pool and get the ninth Bronze Reward, then swim to the other end of the pool and pull the lever to open the first of two gates in the underwater passage on the side wall of the pool. Climb out, go to the fish statue on the other wall that you pulled out earlier to reach the upper balcony, make your way to the first balcony where the two statues are, and get the tenth Bronze Reward from the diving board. Go to each of the two statues and turn them so they face towards each other (their spears should touch), whereupon a panel will be revealed in the alcove with another face wall plaque. Press the tongue to open the second gate in the underwater passage in the pool. Dive into the pool and swim into the tunnel for the fourth Silver Reward. (This passage leads to the second pool in the Gymnasium if you want to swim through and check it out.) Make your way back to the balcony with the two statues and this time remember the first clue you found earlier about the '..Twin Sisters turn their backs one upon the other..' Turn both statues so that they face away from each other, to reveal another carved panel (you need to face them towards each other first - if you do this one first then you may not be able to do it the other way to get the Silver Reward!) Approach the panel and press Action to read 'Within the Hall of Knowledge, Tomes of Cerulean, Topaz, Viridian and Crimson in turn reveal their Arcanum.' Another big 'A' word - again, all will be clear shortly! Now go to the other side of this balcony, jump to the first bar, use the Grapple on the overhead point to swing to the second bar, and then to the far balcony. Go behind the statue at the far end of the balcony to get the fifth Silver Reward, then use the Grapple to pull the ball off the other fish statue. Roll it into place on the pressure pad behind the diving board to lower the platform above the centre of the pool and keep it lowered for the next thing to do. Dive into the pool and pull out near the fish statue you pushed to the pool's edge earlier. Climb on and jump to the platform over the pool. Use the Grapple to pull the platform as close as possible to the small balcony that you shimmied around before, and jump to it to get the sixth Silver Reward. Now return to the Study for one more thing.
Study
That last clue about the 'Tomes' in the 'Hall of Knowledge' refers to four books in the Study. 'Cerulean' is Blue, 'Topaz' is Yellow, 'Viridian' is Green, and 'Crimson' is of course Red. In the Study, on the two levels, are four books which are clearly different to the others and have the above colours, although the exact colour of one of them may be confusing. They have to be used in the above order. First go to the Blue Book to the right from the entry door and push it in. Go up the stairs, around the balcony, and into the small room. Push in the Yellow Book on the left (this looks sort of greenish, but it's yellow..) Then go out onto the balcony and push the Green Book in. Finally go back down to the floor level and push the Red Book in - the panel beside the Red Book opens. Grab the seventh Silver Reward, and use Action to read the inscription on the stone panel 'Above the Hearth, revealed visage and countenance touched in haste raise up the Steward'. Now head back down to the Main Hall for some fun.
Main Hall
Firstly, use the Grapple on one of the three bars on the top of the window of Zip's room to pull them to the horizontal position. Now look on the balconies - 'Above the Hearth, revealed visage and countenance..' refers to the two face wall plaques that are now exposed, one at the end of each of the balconies near the bars. Go to one of them and get ready for a tightly timed sequence, '..touched in haste..' You need to press the switch on the first plaque, then quickly use the bars to swing across to the other balcony and press the switch on that side as well. It's not that tightly timed so if you're doing this after finishing the game then it shouldn't be too difficult, but if you're doing it early on then it may take a few tries to get right - to make it faster try to jump on the same swing Lara starts as she grabs each bar! Once you do it right, a section of floor down in the Hall opposite the fireplace will open and a statue will rise out of the floor - '..raise up the Steward'. The two panels have turned again, so before leaving the second panel, use Action to read the final clue 'The risen Athena turns to face the Sun, whose burden then reveals the Golden Laurel'. Go down to the statue and turn it to face the golden pressure pad at the foot of the stairs, then go and stand on that pressure pad. At the far end of the Hall a pillar will rise, with the Gold Reward on top of it! Go back up to either balcony and jump to the centre bar, move to the end closest to the pillar, and drop to land on the top of the pillar. Grab the Gold Reward whereupon the pillar will lower back into the floor while Lara's standing on it, and the Hall will return to its previous state. Now go to the door between the fireplace and the stairs and head through to the Gymnasium for the rest of the Rewards!
Gymnasium
Bug Note 1 - I've seen a bug with the moveable apparatus where the apparatus seems to be in the correct position, but Lara grabs it as if it's in the alternate position, thus appearing to grab thin air. Before moving around the room cycle the apparatus you're intending to use so it ends up in the correct position, which should fix any little bugs. This is probably caused by exiting the Manor with the apparatus in a different position to where it was when you entered..
Bug Note 2 - Also, as you come and go from the Manor, apparatus which behaved in a certain manner one time may behave differently the next, depending on the position it was left when you quit the Manor - an example is the high hanging platform near the ladder, which is supposed to only move close to the ladder when the ladder is in the open position, but depending on where you left the ladder last time may stay close to the ladder even when it's closed against the wall. I've rewritten this guide after doing the Gymnasium from a fresh savegame so the apparatus behaved as it should, but remember that it could behave differently for you..
This is the trickiest area I think I've ever seen to write a walkthrough for! You're looking for a total of nine Rewards in here, most of which are easily seen, but a bit trickier to get to. You may notice that some of the apparatus has Grapple points on it - for example, the ladder on the side wall can be used either flat against the wall or pulled out. Similar applies to several other items, including a climbing rock over the pool, and their position is changed so that they can be used to access different places. I strongly recommend that you take some time to familiarise yourself with the room layout and the positions of all the apparatus, including the high bars - once you become familiar with the layout you should be able to start picking out the routes you can follow to reach at least some of the Rewards. Feel free to use the Grapple to move the apparatus around to see what happens, as it can all be easily reset by using the Grapple again (although you may have to change your position to be able to pull it in the right direction).
There are alternative routes to reach many of the Rewards in the Gymnasium so feel free to experiment with the apparatus! I've detailed what I think are the the easier ways to explain (or in one case a much more interesting route), but you're sure to find other ways - I found plenty! This room is all about having fun, so go for it :)
Tomb Raider Legend Walkthrough Ign
First, drop into the pool for the eleventh Bronze Reward. That wasn't so hard, was it ;-)
The next Reward is on the small ledge in the centre of the wall behind the pool. It may be possible to get it by swimming up against the small ledge and hitting Action while Lara is still in the water, but if this doesn't work read on.. Make sure the bar on the C-shaped gadget is horizontal, and the swinging rock panel over the pool is flat against the wall. Then go to the free standing stone block near the back left corner of the room, grab the crack, and back jump to the bar. Swing to the pole, then to the horizontal bar in the C-shaped gadget, and from there to the pole on the wall. Climb to the top, right jump to the climbing rock and grab the crack, then shimmy around the corner and vault to the crack above. Shimmy to the right again around the corner, then back jump to grab a ledge on the next rock, above the pool. Vault up to the climbing holds and climb to the top, right jump to the crack, and from there to the bar on the next rock. Face the wall and move Lara against it, then while still facing the wall release and grab the crack below. Move left and drop to the next crack, then make sure you're in the right position, drop to the small ledge above the water, and grab the eighth Silver Reward.
Tomb Raider Legend Ps2 Cheats
Follow the route in the previous paragraph and make your way back to the horizontal bar high above the place you got the last Reward, and swing to the next bar. Then swing to the crack in the rock in the corner, and shimmy to the left into the alcove for the twelfth Bronze Reward.
Now to demonstrate the moveable apparatus. Use the Grapple on the C-shaped gadget you used a minute ago, to swing the bar to the vertical position. Make your way back to that bar as before, then turn left and jump to the nearby pole. From there you can jump to the crack in the rock pillar on the end wall, then shimmy right and do a right jump into the alcove for the thirteenth Bronze Reward.
By now you should be starting to get the idea in here, but those were quite easy..
Now for a slightly trickier one. Make sure the horizontal bar on the apparatus to one side of the entry door is positioned in line across the room. Go to the sloped mat, jump to the horizontal bar, then to the pole ahead. Turn a little right and jump to the moveable horizontal bar. From there swing to the crack in the rock pillar on the wall to the right of the entry door. Shimmy around the corner to the left, then back jump to the bar above the entry door. Swing to the climbing holds on the next rock pillar, climb to the top, and back flip to the high bar. Now it's a little tricky. Move along the bar until Lara is in line with the outer side of the first rock pillar, then swing to it so Lara grabs the crack on the outer side of the pillar - this means Lara will twist to the left as she grabs because the crack isn't facing the bar she came from! Shimmy around the corner to the right, then back jump to the next crack on the rocks in the corner. Shimmy around the corner to the right again, then back jump to the nearby pole. Turn Lara to face the alcove under the corner rock pillar, and lower her down to the bottom of the pole. Let go, and Lara will drop to the slope below, then jump so she lands in the alcove for the fourteenth Bronze Reward.
Now move the horizontal bar near the entry door so it's lined up with the length of the room. Go further down this side, and make sure the ladder on the wall is in the open position, standing out from the wall (this also moves the hanging platform above closer to the ladder. Or should..) From the sloped mat jump to the first bar, then to the pole, then turn right and jump to the moveable bar. Move Lara to the left end of the bar close to the pole it's attached to, and swing to the right hand slope by the wall. Jump from the bottom of the slope to grab the crack in the rock pillar a little further down the side wall. Shimmy around the corner to the right and side jump to the right to the pole nearby. Turn Lara left and jump to the short pole on the side wall, then side jump right to the short ledge. Shimmy to the right and side jump right to grab the ladder. Climb up the ladder and jump back to grab the pole attached to the wall. Side jump left to reach the alcove with the fifteenth Bronze Reward (from the top of the ladder Lara may be able to jump direct to the alcove without using the second pole).
Hang off the edge of this alcove and drop to grab the pole attached to the wall below, jump to the ledge on the right, then to the ladder again. Climb to the top and right jump to the suspended platform. The platform will move away from the ladder under Lara's weight, enabling her to jump to the next hanging platform for the ninth Silver Reward. Carefully swan dive into the pool, climb out, and dry yourself off. Only two to go!
Make sure the moveable bar near the entry door is aligned along the length of the room, and move the ladder so it's flat against the wall this time, then make your way back to the ladder as in the previous two paragraphs. Right jump from the ladder to the lower crack in the next rock wall. Shimmy right, then vault up to the top crack. Shimmy right and right jump to the crack in the rock pillar in the corner, and shimmy to the right around the corner. Back jump to the bar over the alcove, then turn around so Lara's facing back across the alcove. Release Lara's grip and she should grab the narrow rock finger sticking out from the bottom of the alcove. Shimmy right and pull up into the alcove for the sixteenth, and final, Bronze Reward. Drop to the floor for the final Reward in the game!
Make sure the C-shaped gadget is positioned so the bar is horizontal, and the swinging rock above the pool is pulled out so it's perpendicular to the wall. Go to the free standing rock, grab the crack, and back jump to the horizontal bar. Jump to the pole, then to the C-shaped gadget, and from there to the pole on the wall. Climb to the top and jump to the pillar on the right to grab the crack. Shimmy around the corner and vault to the crack above. Shimmy to the right around the corner and back jump to grab the crack on the rock face above the pool. Vault and climb up the green climbing holds, then right jump to the next crack, and from there back jump to the bar which is now parallel to the wall. Carefully position Lara and swing to the next, angled, horizontal bar, then to the bar near the third platform. Move to the left end of the bar and swing to the platform. Turn left and position Lara on either the left or right side of the edge of the platform facing the high alcove, then use the Grapple to pull the platform right up to the horizontal bar sticking out under the alcove. Release the Grapple and quickly jump to either side of the bar to reach the alcove for the tenth, and final, Silver Reward.
That's it, you've completed the Manor!
Once you have completed every level, and found every Reward in the game, almost every Extra will be unlocked. And by then the Pistols will have all the upgrades, which makes them more useful when replaying levels or challenging Time Trials. The only Extras left are some costumes for Lara, and most of the Cheats (which include two extra weapons), and to get these you have to win the Time Trials..

The Time Trials unlock most of the game Cheats (one is unlocked just by finishing the main game), and these will appear in the Special menu. In that menu you'll find the cheat codes you've unlocked (there are 10 in total), but although these codes can be found on the web they can't be used until you've unlocked them in the game and they appear in that menu. So it's a waste of time to go looking for them on the web because when you are able to use them you'll have them anyway. For that reason I won't be posting them here..
As you complete each level you are able to undertake a Time Trial for that level. To do this select Load Level, load your latest savegame, choose the level you want to challenge, and select Time Trial. You are able to change Lara's outfit depending on those outfits you've unlocked through the game. It's helpful to leave the Time Trials until you complete the main game so all the Pistol upgrades are unlocked - these give larger magazines, better accuracy, and greater power, and can obviate the need to chase ammo for the larger weapons, thus saving a little more time.
The Time Trials are tightly timed and require good skill levels to win. When they start a countdown timer will appear onscreen so you'll know how you're going. You need to be thoroughly familiar with the route through the level, be completely comfortable controlling Lara, and pace yourself at a fast speed but not so fast that you cause mistakes. You will be playing the level as played through the game, including the bad guys, so you'll have to decide which fights you can avoid to save time. Those you can't avoid need to be completed as quickly as possible so you won't be able to use concealment as it wastes too much time. To make the level flow more smoothly you may prefer to skip the cinematics using the Pause menu, but doing this can also be distracting.
The Time Trials are not easily beaten, and winning them doesn't add a lot to the Extras you already win by completing the game and finding every Reward - you just get some extra costumes for Lara and unlock the Cheats. But the ultimate for a really dedicated Raider will be to complete the game to 100% and beat every Time Trial, and by doing this you unlock two different colour bikini swimsuits for Lara to wear at Croft Manor! I can think of plenty of guys who'd find that worth a bit of effort to win ;-) There are also two weapons unlocked with Cheats that could be useful. Excaliber becomes available with one of the Cheats, and there's a surprise appearance of the Soul Reaver, the sword from Legacy of Kain, once all the Time Trials are completed. I've not seen this yet but it could be quite cool!
So that's about all folks! Hope you had fun, and did you notice that the only key was the Ghalali Key, which didn't even open a single door.! I have to say that with all the keys over the years in both the official levels, and the custom releases, I never wanted to see another one again!
